The beach getaways are very interesting to m. One of the excursions at Cabo is at the Finisterra Resort. The brochure states that you can't go swimming in the ocean but when I looked up the resort on the internet it looks like it sits practically on the beach. I wonder if you can at least wade in the water?

I spent a week in Cabo several years ago not far from the Finesterra. I found the beaches, as such, are treacherous and not suitable for swimming. The currents are very fast and turbulent. If you read further in the excursion material that fact is explained very briefly. You would be far safer to use the Finesterra pool and just look at the beach. I did go snorkeling behind one of the resorts but came away with huge scrapes from being thrown up against the rocks along with my great pictures of acquatic life...

I called the Finisterra a couple of days ago. They said they are right on the ocean and they said you really can't swim there. However they do have beach chairs so you can relax on the beach and make sandcastles.

Lynda do you know if the whole of Cabo is fairly unswimmable or is is just near the Finisterra area?

Now that the excursions are out, I have been looking for maps that show the places in relation to each other and to the port, and I thought maybe others might be interested in this as well, so here are some links to useful maps that show that places names mentioned in the excursion information:

This thread is going to prove to be a great help to everyone. Thanks.

Not to beat a dead horse -- but I guess I must get my two-cents in about us Eastern Repo people being "jipped" on an extra port. I personally don't find the overnight at Acapulco much help when all their excursions are morning or early afternoon. Nothing in the evening. I'd rather leave that night and be able to see Mazatlan like the Westbound cruisers. Fourteen days on a ship and only four ports including CC (five if you want to count Panama Canal -- even though it's really a day at sea) seems minimal. Oh well -- just my venting. Still glad to be on the cruise bringing the Magic home!

Maybe the fact that there ARE no evening excursions could indicate that another itinerary change is in the works for the Eastbounders. Rumours seem to be circulating to that effect, but no details. Here's Hoping!!!!

We don't have to rely on DCL for excursions. We can always do research and do things on our own. That is what we're probably going to do.

Ain't photoshop wonderful. That picture is not of a "real" event. :sad2:

Oh, duh! well, nice ps work, then! :teeth:

On the DU site it says you may only book onboard, but not on the Disney site. Just wondering what the story is.

Its 2-14. Happy valentines day to everyone. I'll be on the Aug Repo cruise and i have not recieved any info. Should i be worried?

thanks :earboy2:

Sadly there is no info that has been mailed. Disney has posted excursions on their site though. We don't have any info about formal nights or anything else yet though and I don't think the May cruisers do either.

People have tried... and they've all been told you have to wait until onboard depending on the water level at the time. HTH

I am on the May repo cruise. I just called DCL to book our excursions, I asked about info being sent. Castmember said that nothing was being sent regarding excursions or cruise info. I asked about formals nights and such, so we know what to pack. Castmember said..you will find all that info in the navigator when you board. Ugh..come on disney..give us a break here.

Seems for the kind of money they are asking they could at least let the May folks in on the plan. Of course that assumes they have a plan. :confused3

That is ridiculous!!! I can't believe you will not know how many formal nights until your board. How are you supposed to know what to pack. Maybe another castmember will be able to give you more information. Alternatively you might send e-mail through their web site. It takes a while to get a response but perhaps you'll get an answer there.
