Well, since all you lucky turkey day visitors are trickling back in, I'd love to hear where you ate, what you ate, what else was on the menu, what it cost, and how it all measured up as a Thanksgiving dinner experience. We're visiting for Thanksgiving next year, and I'd love to hear thoughts on Thanksgivng meals while it is still fresh in your minds!

LOL. we had PS at Le Cellier forn Thanksgiving but we ended up cancelling them because we didn't want to spend the extra money.

Soooooo... we ended up having Breakfast at Boma using 2 Connections vouchers, it was very good! Then we had a late lunch at Beaches and Cream!!! lol. We used 2 Connections vouchers and it fed all of us and we had 2 HUGE sundaes for dessert, it was very yummy!! Plus the place was empty and it only cost us 22.00(the price of the vouchers)-lol! Not exactly *traditional* but we're a make your own traditions sort of family-lol.

Foot long chilli cheese dogs and turkey legs at the stand on Sunset Blvd at MGM. A tradition is born.

Our dinner was at the Trails End in Fort Wilderness. Cost was $17.99 per adult all day (noon to 9 p.m. I think) and this included drinks (but not tax or tip). They had two soups, breads, salad bar including shrimp, assorted vegetables, fried chicken, a pasta dish of some sort, carved ham and turkey, dressing (stuffing), some more stuff I can't remember, and three kinds of pie.

The service was great (our server was Ken) and we gobbled till we wobbled!

We went to Artist Point in the Wilderness Lodge and I was a little disappointed compared to The California Grille where we ate last year. There were only 4 choices on the menu, Turkey, Filet, Salmon, and an Asian Noodle Bowl (For $40!) However, if you like any of these options the food was really good. None of the dessert choices had chocolate unfortunately.

Our family (party of 9) really enjoyed LTT. We had a PS for 4:30 which worked out perfectly for our group. I first secured the PS for CRT then got the LTT PS. We had an MK fireworks cruise that night then headed back into the MK for more. LTT had the traditional menu, and everyone was very pleased with the meal. My in-laws from MN, and my SIL and BIL from NYC, as well as my dh and kids thought it was the perfect spot in WDW for Thanksgiving or Christmas. LTT is not gourmet, nor will you mistake the mashed potatoes for real. The turkey was excellent and moist, the flank steak tender and tasty, and the ham was passable if a bit dry. We also had rolls which were soft, mac and ch, sauteed veggies, and dessert. The bottom line is that for a restaurant-cooked, traditional, Thanksgiving meal, the quality is good. The atmosphere and characters do the rest to make it really memorable. If we go over Thanksgiving in 2004, we'll be heading back to LTT.

We had our Thanksgiving meal at Chef Mickey's. The price was $25.95 and included drinks. The salad and peel and eat shrimp were great starters before enjoying prime rib, turkey with apple stuffing (wonderful by the way), a pasta dish, and one other meat that I can't remember. Side items were corn, green beans, the fabulous parm potatoes, carrots, yams, and then of course the kids buffett. The desserts here are wonderful. I had apple cheese cake and a very rich chocolate mousse pie. We have eaten at Chef Mickey's several times before and feel we made a great choice for Thanksgiving.

We, too, had T-giving dinner at LTT (at 5:30) and I agree w/ travelitis - it was great! The food was yummy and the atmosphere and characters fantastic!

We sort of had two Thanksgiving Dinners. In addition to the above posted dinner at Artist Point with the family. We had dinner at LTT with my husband's half-brother's family Thanksgiving Eve. (My husband's parents are divorced so we can't mix everyone together) The food was fine, especially the flank steak and stuffing, but the service was really great. We were their last customers of the evening and they checked to make sure that all the characters stopped by and then when we asked them to take a family picture, they brought us out into the lobby area, in front of the fireplace for the picture. They even moved the furniture so that we had an unobstructed picture. They were really great!

Well, we had lunch at MK...turkey legs! Had to get some turkey in.

Then dinner at Coral Reef in Epcot. We enjoyed the dinner, in addition to salmon, lobster & other "fish", they offered steak, chicken breast & a traditional turkey dinner. We all had fish...figured if we were in Disney we had to do something different. We had ressies at 4:50, which was great as they apeared backed up...lots of people in line...when we left.

I have to say that we ate dessert all the way around world showcase, which was great fun! And it was the emptiest I have EVER seen it!! Other than being VERY cold that night. We saw TON, my fav parade! I would do it again in a minute!

We had Thanksgiving dinner at Chef Mickey's, but we weren't all that pleased with it. The turkey was not on the carving board, but was presliced and soaking in brown gravy. Yuck. The carving board had prime rib and lamb, but the prime rib was very tough. On the positive side, the parmesan mashed potatoes here are awesome, there was a wonderful tortellini dish, and plenty of peel and eat shrimp. The kids buffet and the desserts were wonderful too. In fact, our waitress gave us a couple of to-go soup containers so we could smuggle out some cookies, as these were the best chocolate chip cookies we had all week.

If you want a character meal, I'd have to say this was the best character interaction of the 3 character meals we did. The characters came around several times, and Chip and Dale kept trying to steal my daughter's dessert, which cracked her up.

If we go over Thanksgiving again, we would probably have dinner elsewhere. Actually, the best turkey we had all week was the next night at Ohana's. That place was fabulous and we expect to return there every trip!

We decided to stay close to home (WL) for our turkey day meal. We had a PS for 6:00 PM and were seated promptly. DH sat down and said, "I don't feel good. I'm going to lay down in the room." He ended up with food poisoning either from the Bloody Mary he had from Trout Run that afternoon or the pepperoni pizza he had for lunch at Disney Quest.

The boys and I didn't end up eating much of the all you can eat, brought to your table salmon, chicken and turkey with filling at WC. The CM remarked that we ate so little that he was only going to charge us for one adult and a child's meal. The food was mediocre. The salad they served had a very good tasting dressing on it. They served small tart sized desserts (apple and pumpkin) which were actually pretty good. Definitely not worth the $21.95 (if I remember correctly) pricetag.

We did have an excellent meal earlier in the week at Yachtsman and wish we would have eaten there instead.

we ate at the California Grill on the 15th floor of the Contemporary. You should cross this off your list for next year.
We had a 5:30 p.m. ressie, we got there about 20 minutes early and went out to the observation deck to take a few pictures and were seated right at 5:30.

First off, I should say I am a VERY picky eater.. I'm a meat and potato girl. My Daughter is not as bad as me, she'll TRY new things. Me? NO WAY, My dad taught me early with the "yuck, that looks terrible, you don't want to try that!!"

The view was fantastic. We had a window view of the castle and could see it changing colors, that was the best thing about the whole dining experience. As far as the food, well $45 each for dinner was really expensive, I thought. You select what you want from a limited menu. We didn't like any of the appetizers, so we ended up with the "bread" kind of like pizza flatbread, I pulled the red peppers and the hunks of goat cheese off. My daughter had the salad - which she took one bite of and said it tasted like it had soap on it instead of salad dressing. Me, I'm a plain garden salad person.. no romaine, this looked like a cesar salad, so, no thanks, none for me.

I had the turkey dinner, it was somewhat cold, but then turkey usually gets kind of cold by the time it gets to the table as you finish getting the veggies, etc ready. My daughter didn't like ANYTHING on the menu, so she ended up with Goat cheese ravioli and only had a few bites.

We didn't get any dessert, although it was included in the dinner price... no cheesecake, no ice cream, just yuck to us. I had ice water to drink, she had an ice tea and a glass of house champagne ($7)

SO, $112 later plus tip, we were outta there for some food... My daughter had a peanut butter & jelly sandwich when we got back to the Polynesian to change so we could go to the Magic Kingdom.

Try the Hard Rock Cafe (if you have your own car)... We used Yourride transportation to get back & forth from the airport. When Rabbit picked us up to drive us back to the airport, he said he had gone there and it was great.. I believe he said it was around $28 a person for the all you can eat buffet... and they had a HUGE selection.

We had 2:00 pm reservations at Boatwright's for Thanksgiving and was not disappointed. My husband and I had the Thanksgiving dinner which consisted of light and dark meat, a large helping of stuffing, an even larger helping of mashed potatoes (no garlic, yeah!) and gravy, sweet potatoes and green beans. A slice of apple or pumpkin pie came with the meal. All for $16.99. We were given hot sourdough rolls also. Our son (14) chose not to eat turkey and had the prime rib. He gave it a thumbs up. Our daughter (11) had the children's chicken strips and declared it good also.

Service was also good. I'm glad that we ate there.

Jeanny,
I am sorry to hear that you did not like your dinner at the California Grille, however, I do not feel that your experience reflects how many other people would feel about CG. I respect your meat and potatoes preference but for those who are interested in trying things prepared a little differently this restaurant might be a great choice. While we didn't dine there this year, we were at Artist Point, we had an excellent meal at CG last year. In fact, I wish that we would have eaten there again this year. Yes you do need a little more adventuresome taste buds for CG, but for those willing to try something new, this is a great option.

I didn't select CG because my fil prefers very plain food, too. The Thanksgiving menu at CG sounded great for me but not him. I know he would've felt the same as you, Jenny.

I don't know about Thanksgiving, but I've been to that Hard Rock, and I can't recommend it in the least. My dh and I always joke about it and Bongos as being our "can't miss" restaurants (sarcasm dripping). Some Hard Rocks have good food, service, and noise levels that don't preclude dinner conversation. Bigger, in this case, is not better imho.
