Point Lookout State Park Scotland, MD

This state park is close to home for us and since they have full hook up on the tulip loop we love it there. The mosquitoes take the place over most summers but we usually visit early spring or late fall and havent had a real problem.
Point Lookout Lighthouse said to be very haunted open to the public the first weekend of the month April October check the dates I could be wrong.
Playground not near the campground youd have to walk about .5 a mile or drive to it.
Theres also a beach area near the playground where you can swim.
And a fishing pier across the street from the playground.
And on the subject of point lookout heres from our October 2008 camping trip
Site 61
Fort Lincoln Point Lookout is very rich in civil war history.
And there are tons of trails to walk and a little museum about the civil war and some Chesapeake Bay ecology stuff.
