I know its a loooong way away, but with membership expiring in 2042 for all but SSR, has there been any chatter as to what Disney would plan on doing with those resorts? Keep them as cash resorts, sell extensions, or sell them over again?

in my opinion - it depends upon the economy and how well WDW is during at the time - if the place is filled to capacity and WDW knows that they can rent these villa for very, very, high prices - I am pretty sure they will make ones close to the hotels part of the resort hotels. Now what they will due with OKW or SSR - I just don't know - kept them as resort or tear down and built another theme park????

so if the economy is not so good - they will let DVC members (who are live and want to) probably renew - if it is bad - definitely more likely that they will let DVC members renew it.

however if WDW is during great - I think we can forget DVC being renewed....

Renewal is a very complicated issue. MOST members would have to renew and it's take a fairly low price since you're talking a high percent of older owners and/or second or even third generation owners, plus only 12 years. Anything over $10 pp in todays dollars would likely kill the deal. I'll be surprised if Disney offers this option but if they do, it'll be after they're through selling any new resorts or at the very end of sales.

In 2042 I still will be young enough to renew. I would insist on another 50 years or it would not be worth while. OK, so I will be 92 in 2042. Wishfull thinking. Dennis

I'd vote for renewing those resorts with hotels and a total rebuild of OKW
