I called today to make a reservation and the CM told me that if I book the AAA rate I can't purchase the Dining Plan.... has anyone else run into this?

If you called Disney, then that's true. Disney can only book a room-only reservation using the AAA rate. You have to go through a AAA agent to book a package and get the dining plan.

If you already have a room with AAA discount, will AAA always be able to convert it into a package? I'm worried that the rooms with the discount will be "gone" when I finally decide if the dining plan's worth it to me. Am I worrying for nothing?

I did this. I went to Disney.com and priced my package. I called CRO & booked it for that identical price. The following day, I called AAA (yesterday) and the Dec '09 package prices were literally *just* released, so I booked the package through them.

Therefore, I was definitely comparing apples to apples.

Disney Price: $5,594.58
AAA Price: $5,055.30

AAA cheaper by: $539.28

Based on my calculations, if you're not interested in the dining plan or the other perks they throw into the packages, generally the cheapest route is to book a room only reservation with a discount and buy your tickets separately. I used a conservative 10% AAA discount in my calculations. There's also hope that better discounts and offers come out later.

I had the same thing happen when I booked my AAA room only rate yesterday. The CM was adamant that AAA rates for '09 were not out yet. I called CRO back 5 minutes later and got a CM who booked me at the AAA rate. I would give CRO a call back.

yes you can add later, myw with dinning or whatever. I don't think that you get much of a discount on the park hoppers, just the rack rate discount. that is why I got a room only quote, to see what the % off was.

I don't think so. I was told by the CM that I spoke with that if you book your room using your AAA discount, you cannot turn that into a package which means you cannot add the dining plan - only your tickets.

If you want the dining plan and room you can't use your AAA discount. We ended up booking everything through AAA so that we could get the room discount, dining plan and tickets.

My Question is this,are the AAA rates taxes included? I didnt get home in time to call the AAA TA to ask this, Im just assuming they are as all the quotes we recieved so far have been and all are less than Disney has quoted, surprise surprise...If anyone could shed some light on AAA and tax Id love to know.

What is AAA's cancelation policy. I've never used them before and we are thinking of getting the dining plan. I would have gone with Small World but they can't do the dining plan. If you get your tickets with AAA are they the ones that are on your room card or is it a seperate ticket? Is the dining plan on the ticket as well. I'm sorry if these are repeated questions. I couldn't find anything and my head is swimming with all these things to consider. TIA
