(Possibly) stupid dress question

Hey all-
So I have this question I was wondering about...(mostly because as a lot of you, I am pretty obsessive at times)

I was wondering...so after you order your dress and leave your deposit...do you just wait until they contact you that it's in? They told me 4 months which will be mid-DEC.....do I call them around then? Or just wait?

Is there any reason why I would need to be in contact with the bridal shop in the meantime? I can't think of any, but it just seems like of weird....

It's perfectly fine to just wait for them to call you! If by December for whatever reason you haven't heard anything, then you'd maybe want to call them, just to check in, but otherwise, they'll let you know if there's any problems that you need to know about

I called my bridal store the week that the dress was supposed to come in. It doesn't hurt to stay in contact so you know what's going on.

My bridal shop gave me a date the dress would be in and said If I didn't hear by that day to call them. It would hurt to call them and find out as the date comes closer.

My shop told me they'd call me when they knew the ship date for certain and didn't so I called them and they told me they would call mid october when it is in.... anyday!

You can just wait until they call you. I work in a bridal shop and we call our girls the day their dress arrives. You can always give them a call shortly after ordering and they may be able to give you an estimated ship date. All of our designers give us these estimated dates within a week or two of placing the order. That way you don't feel like you're bugging the shop, but you have have an estimated date of when it will come in.

I think it's perfectly normal to give them a call a couple weeks after ordering or before it's expected in. I'm sure they get that a lot. I'm also sure shops get a lot of bridezillas calling every week asking, "Is it in yet? Is it in yet??" Yep, just like that.

We're most likely going to order the BM dresses from the same shop as my gown, so I plan to casually ask them when we're there buying them. I'm sure they won't have any trouble letting me know as we're dropping more $$.

My store told me it would be about 11 months from the time I ordered it until when I received it. I called about 7 months later just to check and they said it was going to come in early. They called me to let me know when it was in!

i called when mine was due because they only hold it for 14 days..and good thing I called because they said they called me 3 days before and they didn't!

Ok, I'm glad you all made me feel it would be ok if I called...I haven't yet, but might. I keep getting urges to call....

It's been about 2 months and they told me 4, so I might just call in a few weeks and ask them if they were given a ship date for it...
