Hi guys wonder of anyone here can shed some light on this.

Me and my family are staying at the all star sports in august for 2 weeks. they have paid for the reservation on there card.
Now the tricky bit.
I want to pay the extra it would cost to stay one of the moderates (about another £400) but i was planning on doing it as a bit of a surprise.
does anyone know if it is possible to do the upgrade and just pay for the additional expense without having to clear the exsisting booking and starting again

Who did you book with? There should usually not be a problem with upgrading as you are increasing the cost of your holiday, but different travel providers have different systems and obviously it is always subject to availability.

If you booked with Disney then absolutely.

I did exactly this last year (originally booked POFQ) just phoned up and gave my CC number and then got an e-mail with the new booking details.

You said your parents paid - is it in their name then? If it is I doubt you will be able to make any amendments, they usually only let the lead passenger do that.

This occurred to me last night, but I am not sure what the specific rules are about this. You would need to phone them and ask.

What I am wondering is whether you will get free dining by upgrading to a mod. The Free Dining offer is on for UK bookings for August for mods (QSDP) and Deluxe (DDP) resorts. However in Disney UK terms and conditions they state that you cannot amend a booking to take advantage of a promotion. If you booked with them you would need to get clarification on this and personally, I would email to get it in writing if this is your intention.

Might be a bit late now(limited availability) but also look at Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, similar price to moderates but you get regular dining plan free.
All depends how you have booked.

Are you sure they want to? I love All Star Sports and would choose it over any of the moderates.

I will probably give them a ring next week as we booked the hotel direct with disney. Ddp isn't of any interest to us and i know they would prefer a moderate as they liked them more than the all stars when we have stayed at them.

Well that looks good then. I think it is a lovely thought. Which mod(s) are you looking at? Any favourites? This is sheer curiousity (read nosy) on my part and is not about to generate any further help for you

Hehe, well I know they like Coronado, and I've been to PORS which i was a bit dissapointed with. I'm just going to see what they have available really and if it is possible first and then I can look into it a bit more

we loved pors, fyi:hug:
i think its lovely you want to do this for your family
tracy

PORS was really nice but it didn't seem to have a Disney feel about it, not like i felt Coronado had. The french quarter on the other hand looked like it had more of a Disney feel to it, maybe it was just all of the bright colours etc

Would you not consider POFQ then as a back up? Just in case CSR is not available? There is also Caribbean Beach. Got an almost irresistable offer on it when I booked this trip, but DD has had her heart set on POFQ and I am confident I won't regret my decision.

I would probably settle for the FQ if CRS isn't available. Just gonna see what they can offer me really, if anything
