I told my DW the other day about my idea of making a weekend trip to WDW in Dec. if we can afford it and... get ready for this... she didn't tell me I was nuts! Now she didn't agree to it but she didn't shoot it down either, do you know what good news this could be? This would be our DD's first WDW experience and it would be our second trip in one year, we should have bought AP's!! I know I my be getting my hopes up but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Oh, and I said ALL that to ask how everone feels about making our DD's first trip just for a weekend, should we wait and go longer? We would spend most of our timr at MK and AK but would stop by MGM at night to see th Osborne lights. And on a side note, when do you think Dec park hours will come out?

I am always up for a Disney trip. You will definitelt think it went too fast but it is better than nothing. The Dec hours usually come out end of Oct beginning of Nov. I can tell you MK is only open till 7:00 and on the Nights the MVMCP goes on it closes at 5:00. I think Sat night it may have been open till 9. The AK I believe closed at 6 and Epcot the world showcase closes at 10 after 9:00 illuminations. I forget about MGM I want to say 8:00. These are really close guesses. I cant find my books from last year. Hope this helps a little.

Maybe you could extend it for a day of two, make it a long weekend-leave thursday nite after work and return late on monday, this would give you 3 days in the parks and a relaxing last day packing up then visiting DTD or just visiting the different resorts to see their decorations - they're beautiful.

If southwest flys from your area, you should download thier "ding" service - they have some great specials. We have flown from Conn to WDW the past two decembers for 101.00 nonstop-round trip.

First 14 days of December is the value season at Disney so you should be able to get a good rate on a room.

Just keep in mind that with the December holiday special events/decorations weekends can be alittle more growded with Florida residents visiting for the weekend. and two it can get COLD so be sure to bring clothes that you can layer - include gloves/mittens and a hat (we bought disney christmas hats-they keep your head nice and warm and look great in pictures).

Your love all the Lights - hope your plans work out for you
