Hi have a few queries for my upcoming trip that l'm hoping you guys can give me some help with?

Having only flown twice and never previously with DD, just wondering what the baby change facilities are like?:rolleyes1 I know thats probably a very silly question but from what l can remember of plane toilets, they're tiny! :rotfl:

DD would've just turned 2 when we fly and absolutley hates the pull down changers (as do I!). I'm guessing thats what they'll have, just can't picture how they'll fit!

Should probably add we're flying with Virgin from Gatwick.

Thanks in advance :)

I would really like to know this as well, I hadn't even thought about this! DS will be 13 months when we travel on Virgin in October MAN to MCO

Any plane I have been on its been the pull down changers when we took my friends 2 almost 3 year old we used pull ups on the plane but he was mostly potty trained by then it so Im probably not been much help here we did a stand up change a little tricky but worked :)

Hate to sound like snobs but we've only been in PE with kids long haul and they had nothing at all as I recall.

Children had to stand while I (6'5" of clumsy Dad) changed them with the toilet seat down.

It's fine though, don't worry about it. Our kids always seemed to prefer standing anyway (girls, typical)

When I flew while my girls were small, most planes (except 1 small plane) had toilets with flip down changing tables. They are located above the toilet seat, and are the width of the space. I had no problems changing diapers - even when 1 daughter had some very messy diapers on a long flight from China. It is a tight squeeze, but very doable. I did "double bag" the stinky diapers so that they wouldn't stink up the joint!

HTH.

this was also my experience....though as i recall, they weren't in all of the bathrooms, only some of them...but perhaps that's changed by now...
in any case, it is a very small space and i don't remember ever using it....

i only remember putting DD and DS on DH's seat to change her/him......

There are toilets in all grades of cabin that have change tables in them but yes they are small but managable. As others have said go for pull up pants not nappies as they really complicate your life in an aeroplane toilet. At 2yo even a No2 can be easily sorted with your child standing up. I used to also take the small travel size baby wipes (25 per packet) and would have just the pull up and baby wipes tucked into the plastic nappy bag. It is easier not trying to juggle too many things in there.
Please whatever you do don't go down that horrible route of thinking it is OK to do the change anywhere but the toilets!!!

Thank you all for your replies :)

Pull ups sound like the way to go then.:thumbsup2 We've just started on potty training at the moment although not going well at all, so l imagine some form of nappy will still be needed when we travel.

I wouldn't try to change DD anywhere other than the toilet as she currently finds it hilarious to run off part way through changing! Can just picture the looks on the other passengers faces now as she runs off down the aisles nappyless, giggling to herself :rotfl2:
