My DH and I (no children) may be traveling to Europe in October of 2009. I'm attempting to gather information on going to DLP - what hints can you give me...

Which hotel would you recommend?
How many days to see the parks?
What is "not to miss"?
Weather in October?
What else should we see at the Parks or hotels besides the rides?

Any hints would be appreciated!

The hotels range in budget from the Disneyland Hotel which is actually 'in the park' to the Santa Fe which is a quick shuttle bus ride or 20 minutes walk away. Have a look at our Hotel FAQ to see which one takes your fancy.
How many days to see the parks?
My shortest trip has been for 5 nights ;) but I'd say you'd need 3 days to do the parks justice ~ 2 for the main park and 1 for the Studios.
What is "not to miss"?
Attractions that are unique to DLRP such as the dragon under the Castle, the Sleeping Beauty Gallery inside the Castle, BTM which is on an island and is reached by going underwater, the Storybook Rides, Crush's Coaster .........
Weather in October?
Can be changeable ~ we went the last week in October, wore coats and needed to buy gloves although the afternoons were so warm and sunny we were able wear just T-shirts. So ..... you need to be prepared for all weather and it's best to wear layers that can easily be discarded.
What else should we see at the Parks or hotels besides the rides?
The Disneyland park will be decorated for Halloween during the majority of the month of October ~ it is great fun.
Also, a great place to eat is Walt's restaurant on Main Street. As well as lovely food, the restaurant contains some great memoribilia from Walt's life.
Any hints would be appreciated!
As well as reading trip reports which will give a feel of the place, a great source of info is DLRP Magic. :)

hi i was there in october last year. we had beautiful weather with no need to wear coats well into the evening. i have heard from others who had been there a different week that they had rain. it doesnt tend to be too cold but its a mixed bag

i stayed for five nights but that was with a toddler i would say three or four nights if you were looking to make it a bit longer

i stayed at the santa fe which was the cheapest hotel but suited us fine as all we wanted was a comfortable bed at the end of the day. there is something there for all budgets.

i would say dont miss the halloween shows they were great when we were there.
