possible to remove PH option?

I'm still 78 days out from our arrival. Is it possible to remove the park hopper option from our 8-day MDE reservation? With the new FP system I get the feeling the park hopping isn't as good of an idea as it used to be (even though we've never actually done it).

If your bought tickets through Disney as part of a package, I'm pretty sure you can remove them up until 45 days prior. If it's not a package, I don't know.

I'm not a hopper, but some people who hop actually like it MORE with FP+ when they use their FPs at the second park of the day. . . Something to think about

Park hoppers are great. With the fp+ system I think you need them more than ever. You go to a park that doesn't need fastpassess, like AK, in the morning, then use your fp's for a different park later. You can catch fireworks at one park after spending the day at another. I wouldn't go without them.

But if you really want to remove them you can always call Disney and see if they'll so it. Let us know what they say. I'd be interested to know.

I guess this works with older kids but mine are 10, 8, and 3 so PH-ing is really just giving us an alternative for each day, rather than a set agenda.

How doesn't AK need fast passes? I recall that FPs came in very handy in 2011 for the Everest ride. My older son and I went on it a few times because he loved it so much.

The next time we go this is how we plan to use it. At the second park.

I think the PH is pretty useless with the new system as well, usually by the time you hit the second park there is not FP+ for headliners any way, but there is two ways to make it work to your advantage.


1. Pick a Morning park. Make FP+ for the biggest rides mid morning, hit the park at opening ride popular but not most popular rides for early morning, then hit the FP's for the big rides doing SB as you can until you finish your FP+. Pick a early afternoon Park and hop over to it, and hit up non FP+ rides while trying to snag the on the spot "4th" FP's for rides.

2. Pick a Early Afternoon Park that you want FP at. Make FP+ for the afternoon/early eve. Pick a Morning Park. Hit that park and opening and do headliners first thing and then hit non FP attractions and take a try at SB lines. Ignore the '4th" FP options at the morning park. Go to your Afternoon Park and do FP+ and SB lines and maybe get one extra FP at the Evening park

I did not buy PH on my first MB/FP+ trip because I didn't see the point (testing phase and no extra FP after your 3) and actually did fine and did not really miss the PH, except narrowing your dinner choices and limiting your experience to just a single park.

Three trips since then (about to be 4) but I've had an AP so automatic PH.


Once that expires I will have to revisit whether I will PH with regular tickets or not (I am actually a fan of PH as I like to break up my day with different parks/resturants). If there were better availability of "4th" FP in the afternoons then I'd be more likely to pay PH. Mostly I just think PH benefit those who are repeat visitors and don't feel the need to experience a whole park or the little extras that first time/one time visitors might prefer.
