Possible to book studio in mid july 7mths out at Hilton Head?

Before I start planning this--- is this even a possibility?? We own at SSR, but would really like to spend 4 nights at HH on our way home from Disney in July 2008 (It will actually be the end of July, after the 20th).

I know this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the thread (sorry).

HH has only 102 units. There are 21 studios, 21 1BR villas, 76 2BR vills (all dedicated) and 5 GVs.

While there is often some availability at 7 months, it is usually the 2BRs unless you are looking for weekend nites. The Studios, 1BRs and GVs do go quickly. However, the wailtist does work and many have found success reserving during the summer 7 months ahead.

The best opportunity for finding a reservation is early June and late August.

If you really want a studio, it might be to your advantage to rent points from another member and have them reserve at 11 months.

Given the dynamics of the DVC reservation system, reservations at any resort are possible at 7 months - including HH. This is most true if you are flexible with your dates, room type and are willing to use the waitlist.

HH does have only 21 Studios and summer months are the most popular season - so don't be surprised if all of your dates are not available with the first call - HOWEVER, the waitlist does work and many have reported here that they have been able to secure summer reservations within 7 months for all villa types. Even if a studio is not available, you may find that you'd relly enjoy a 2BR - which may have more availability within 7 months.

We were successful at the 7-month window at HH this July, but make sure you call daily at 9am. I read here later that someone called at 10am on the same day and everything was booked.

Hi I thought it was impossible so I never tried in all my years of owning dvc.

If you are willing to do your 4 days over a weekend this may make the 7 month window more viable. We just added on this past year with HHI as our home resort b/c we wanted HHI summer reservations. When I called all of June and July were in the 7 month window and all that was available were weekends here and there with a few extra days scattered in. I was still in the 8 - 11 month window for August so I booked an early August week and we wanted a Sunday - Saturday stay. Definelty try - you never know!
