We will be celebrating my DD's graduation, and will have her invite a friend. DH and I would like to splurge on Concierge for ourselves... kids will not care... BUT~ is that even possible since we will have to book 1A and 1C per stateroom? That would split the adults between the two different room types... please advise :) We've never done Concierge before, but will have more adult time on this cruise since DD will have a friend with her....

Not allowed. Has to be an adult in each room. It would be one thing to have connected rooms or even across the hall (one veranda and one inside) but in different parts of the ship? Not sure I would risk it. For your daughter's safety, if nothing else. I think there needs to be someone at least 21 in each cabin.

The problem you will encounter is that one adult and one child will not be Concierge. Of course, the adult will be able to sleep in the Concierge stateroom, but the main reason to book Concierge is access to the lounge, the Concierge lunch, etc. The adult in the regular stateroom will not be able to access them since Concierge guests cannot ‘invite’ friends on a regular basis.

I was hoping for connecting rooms~ one Concierge and one not... similar to Club level at the resorts... on other cruise lines I understand that's possible as Concierge rooms are not always grouped together... but it appears as though DCL Concierge rooms are physically restricted to one area of the ship?

Yeah, that is what I was figuring would happen... so it doesn't seem doable which is a bummer for us since we'd like to have the quiet space and lounge amenities while the DD is off having fun with her friend(s)...

On the Magic and Wonder, the concierge rooms are not restricted to their own area like on the Dream and the Fantasy. A bigger problem would be that the adult who is booked into the non-concierge room would not have access to the concierge amenities - only the adult and “child” in the concierge room would have access to things like the lounge.

It depends on the ship you are looking at. On Dream/Fantasy, the staterooms are all grouped together. On Magic/Wonder, they are scattered on deck 8. The original Concierge rooms on those ships did not communicate with non-Concierge rooms. They converted some more rooms in the last few years. Maybe some of those connect with non-Concierge rooms, but I very much doubt it.

Yeah, that's what I figured... we're kind of stuck with the two 17 year olds... you have to book the rooms as 1A-1C, and that messes it all up LOL... oh well...
