Possible Snipers Identified

Here's the latest - the FBI/police are looking for 2 men, John Mohammad and Lee Malvo with a Chevy Caprice, license plate from New Jersey NDA-21Z. It appears that one of them is ex-military of a sort (sergeant in Army but DID NOT make Special Forces). He wanted to, but didn't make the cut. Other guy is approx 17 yo. Also one is of Spanish background.

They did this before on the West Coast but not to the same extent.

So says Justice/police informed sources.

Everybody look out for them. Be careful. Stay safe.

Mohammad considered Armed and Dangerous.

These men have not been identified as the snipers. The names were released as "people that law enforcement individuals are seriously interested in talking to, but are not suspects"

John Mohammad has a couple of aliases: aka John Alan Williams.........

They also have white chevy blazer and a crown victoria.

These two persons of interest are described as being dangerous would be an understatment. That is scary! I hope no one tries to be a hero in this situation to obtain their "15 minutes of fame.)

One's the stepfather of the other. The younger is a Jamaican citizen. They have a tag number for the Chevy Capris. They just want to question them, so they say.

UPDATE: The Police are looking for these up and down the East Coast for 3 days. John Mohammad/Williams is the possible step-father of Malvo. He trained at "Camp Zero" a purported terrorist training camp in rural Alabama in Marion, Alabama (near the MD border). This training camp has ties to Al Qaeda.


Sydally suggested that these men are not suspects.

The police don't issue APBs or Federal Arrest Warrants for non-suspects.

Mohammad is a black male, 42yo, 6'1". He is considerably Armed and EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. It is believed he has information directly related to the sniper attacks. www.atf.treas.gov has a photo of Mohammad.

Chief Moose says that Mohammad is wanted and should not necessarily mean that Mohammad is the sniper.

What do you all think. Is Mohammad the sniper?

Don't know, I would just be speculating as that is all anyone can do at this point. Maybe, maybe not.

Back the news truck up, I didn't say that I made the proclamation that they were not suspects, I was relaying what was announced on CNN, MSNBC and Fox news and now just confirmed by Chief Moose.

I sure hope they find them soon so we can figure out what's going on...

The MD border is near Alabama? Marion, Al is just about centered in Alabama and nowhere near a Maryland border.

I heard that too tigger. Geography has never been my strong suit, but I did not think that Maryland was that far south. Or Alabama that far north...

OK, I admit, I should have checked the maop before repeating what the FOX NEWS newscaster said about the location of Marion, AL.

As for the identity of the 2 men wanted, I was repeating what FOX news said about the men. Again, Federal arrest waraants are not issued for people that the government just wants to "talk to."

Also, according to Federal attorneys reporting for FOX and CNN, they believe it is a "ruse" of the police saying that Mohammad is not the sniper but is wanted for Federal Gun violations. Please....

I DO think that, again, maybe the press theory's are not good - Mohammad is probably watching and knows he is a wanted man.

Like every Virginian, Marylander, and most Americans - I just want the guy(s) caught, stopped, and ultimately punished.

Disneyispi, perhaps Mohammad IS the sniper. Perhaps he isn't . However, you'd be better served by changing the title of this thread to something other than SNIPERS IDENTIFIED , unless you KNOW something that we don't .............

Yes, several people today mentioned that a FOX newscaster talked about Marion, Alabama being near the Maryland border

The woman who was killed here last month here in Montgomery, AL was the sister of a co-worker. I attended her wake (a very touching service by her sisters in AKA).

I've been in a class all day (all week actually and am on the DIS for the first time all week) and have not heard any developments yet.

I know they were going on and on about Ground Zero last night but this morning quoted the owner as saying only the media are reporting anything about it; he had NOT been contacted by any authorities.

Of course, this may all be out now and I'm reporting very old news. I'll go home and see.

I hope these are the guys, both for the DC area sniper attacks and for closure for all the families, including my co-worker here. The crime was senseless and brutal enough when we didn't have a reason and now we discover it may have been for target practice???!!!!
