Possible Issues with 2 Staterooms

What if you book 2 cabins and they end up wanting to be on your veranda most of the time anyway ?
Disney cruise ships are nice because they have a bathroom with tub and shower and another bathroom with sink & toilet. That helps a little with your issues … I haven’t cruised on Disney for over 20 years but I assume it is the same .
Deluxe usually means a bigger room, etc. Check room dimensions .
I do know I definitely want a cabin with fresh air No matter what
And ocean view of my own for early morn sunrise & sunset .
Can you pack a fan or use cellphones to creat muffle noise in room ?
I would just assume everybody is going to be so excited …
Hard to sleep anyway

That is unique to have teens that don’t sleep in.
One of the many reasons why we all make different choices. Do what works for your family.
So true! I definitely was not an early riser as a teen. My problem is I'm second guessing what will work for my family. :rotfl:I know I can't really know until we actually do it, but it's a ton of money, so trying to gather as much info as I can to try to make the best decision. I appreciate all perspectives!

Hi there! We just got off the Treasure...she's a beautiful ship!

Personally, for your family I would do the Deluxe Family Stateroom with Verandah. The set-up of the room is such that there is plenty of room for everything and honestly, you won't be spending that much time in the room anyway but when you are in there, having the Verandah is soooooo nice! If you were traveling with adult children or grandparents I would keep the two staterooms but not in your case. When my mom and I went on the Fantasy with my teens in 2019 (so long ago!), the Family Verandah stateroom was plenty!

This is what my daughter keeps saying - "how much do you think I'm going to be in that room?? We're barely gonna be in the room!" I appreciate the reassurance that if we end up going with the one room the space may not end up being so terrible.

We won't have a verandah if we book two cabins, so that solves that! :goodvibes Our options are two non-verandah cabins (one inside, one ocean view), or one deluxe family verandah. I definitely will plan to bring white noise for sleeping regardless of the room arrangements. And I've seen that there is a curtain that can be used for some separation, but not sure how helpful it will be for noise. That fresh air does sound nice, and I use our balconies at WDW a decent amount, but we also tend to spend a decent amount of time in the room overall on WDW trips and it's seeming like we'd do so less on a cruise. The ocean view at least allows for some natural light!

What do the kids say? If they would prefer one room, I would lean towards getting it. It sounds like your family enjoys being together, so maybe it’s worth it to squish together while everyone still wants to do it.

Have you considered the family oceanview rooms which sleep 5? Lots of savings over veranda - money can be used for other fun stuff. They have this really large porthole and give you a great view the sea directly from the room. They are my favorite room type.

FWIW on our first DCL cruise we were all adults (4 of us) and we stayed in one cabin and were fine. It's only very recently that we get 2 hotel rooms when we travel together - and that's mainly because as adults it's hard for my sister and I to share a bed.

There are the showers in the locker rooms IF that becomes an issue.

Two rooms, two sets of bathrooms.
I rarely use the stateroom bathroom or shower so for our family of 5 it’s never an issue being crammed in one room. I shower in the spa locker room where there is so much more room to move and I will use any bathroom around the ship. We used to always stay aft on the classic ships and the 5 person verandas were a only on the top most room deck so we would be just one flight away from the fancy Palo bathrooms in the morning 🤣. The rule is if you are going to make the room smell go potty somewhere else. 8-)

It's like point/counterpoint :rotfl: But seriously, you all make great points and are illustrating why I am struggling so much with this! Unfortunately there are no family oceanview rooms that sleep 5 left on our sailing.
