Possible good news on Free Dining dates

i was looking at my reservation disney sent me today..when she asked me about adding the dining plan i told her the whole reason we got the visa was in hopes of free dining..she said sure i understand completley.she told me to call and add it if its offered. now when i look at my reservation under special requests it says..(plz call in advance for dining) do all the ressies say that or is she sending me a remind? what do you think?

Just noticed that we were at POR the same time you were last year. We checked in on the 25th at 11 p.m. and then checked in before 7 a.m. on the 26th. I was the first in line:)

you lucky duck... When I got in line it was by that desk when you walk in from the lobby.. I ended up being inline I think an hour.. What was bad was by the time I was done the line was all the way down the hallway into the food court:scared1:

Ok, I thought maybe that's the way it was-, BUT- I have been told 2 completly different answers to this on this thread, does anyone have another tie breaking experience with AAA, as far as whether or not I can call myself to apply the Free Dining? My TA has told me I can do it, or he can- but I have about as much faith in his answer as I do my dog's answer. TIA!!!:thanks:

Also, with the Visa promo, do you have to actually USE the DV to pay for the trip? Or just have one?

I booked through aTA last year prior to free dining coming out. So the morning free dining came out my TA was up and changing everyones reservation for them. She emailed me telling if we want free dining we would have to change resorts as there was no more room at the resort for free dining. I then called disney myself and was able to change it but I could not change my reservation the TA made I had to do a completely new reservation with a new deposit.

Even after the fact to get our documentation from Disney. I called Disney 2 weeks prior to our trip cause I didnt get my luggage tags, etc. and they said that they could not send it to me that I would have to come in contact with the TA. So when a TA is involved Disney works with them.

Ohhh, sounds pretty good - what are your dates, may I ask?!:)

My dates are sept 7-13. My original dates were Sept 8-12 but I extended, two nights.

I am happy about this trip, it is special for my kids. I booked these dates because it is the half way point for my husband being gone. When we get back it will be 3 months until they see daddy!:cool1: So, I can't change my dates for free dining and I told the cm that, that is why I was excited about the "when"!!!

I don't believe the CMs know any more than we do about future promotions. I just got off the phone from booking our Sept trip and the CM I was speaking to was very nice, but was really pushing the DDP. I told him I wanted a room and one day tickets only and was holding out and hoping for free dining again. He told me that for sure free dining was NOT going to be offered for the general public this year. He then said that since I had an AP that I could purchase the DDP without having to buy a one day ticket and really pushed that. When I again told him I thought I'd wait and see if free dining was going to be offered, he again insisted that it would "DEFINITELY NOT" be offered.

Funny thing was, that I called a couple of days ago and got a CM who was "absolutely positive" it was going to be offered in April. Logic says something should be offered for late August-September since it's such a slow time. Disney is smart enough to know that alot of people booked rooms in expectation of free dining and that alot will cancel if it's not offered. We probably would move our trip to a cooler time of the year if free dining is not offered this year..

Honestly, I really don't think CM's have any idea. I really don't understand how some CM's have definate answers. I spoke to a CM today who told me when I asked about the dining plan that she had no idea, but if the Promo did happen, I could call back and get a price adjustment. I also inquired about the Halloween Party if they dates had been released and she told me that she could not say if the party would happen during the dates of my stay.

I find it pretty amusing that some of the know!!!!!

maybe it hasnt been officially told to them yet..but maybe some of them hear rumors at work as to wether or not its going to happen, and maybe some ppl just dont pay attention to thier jobs as much as others or dont care.i think its going to happen..either way im there

For the last few years I used a travel agency that the DIS liked. HOwever last year, my travel agent wasn't there and I received one that never worked with me before. I was really unhappy and don't want to use the same agency. I really would like to have someone that knows about Disney. I don't think I asked much of my agent, but just felt she wasn't knowledgeable about Disney. I had questions.. P & P party, Pirate cruise.. and she really didn't know. I set up my own dining and parks for the days.... I did the work and you guys gave me the knowledge. She didn't know about GACs. I want to be prepared so any ideas?:flower3:
