Possible good news for offsiters and FP+

It makes sense that an ADR could trigger access to FP+. Disney knows that you plan to be there on that date.

This sounds good so far!

Duh! And I read that post, too. Thanks for clarifying. :)

:) It is confusing the way the default message is worded. I have the April 7th message showing in my Fp+ area of MDE - my upcoming visit is in two weeks. I would love to experiment; I'll be offsite before and after an onsite stay but I have a Guest Pass.

Now if only Disney would allow me to link my comp tickets!! :( Glad progress has been made for those staying offsite!

Comp tickets, Guest Passes, and Main Gates, will be the very last to become eligible for Fp+. :(

No such message for me :(

We have park tickets linked and ADRs booked for the end of April.

I don't have a message. When I sign into my online account, not the app, I can find a button that says FP+ selection that hadn't been there before. The button has a lock on it but it is there. Sign into your account and click some of the links for FP+ and see if you can find anything.

ETA: Under My Disney Experience/plan and manage, click the link for my Disney Experience.....try that.

I also now have the FP+ button with a lock. That is new. However, I don't see a message anywhere that tells me when I can start booking. I do have an ADR for the first day we'll be in the parks.

This is still very exciting news!!! :yay:

Looks like MDE went through a little refresher. Looks good.

I have a split onsite/offsite stay in June, but experimented by adding an ADR reservation in April to try to trick MDE into thinking I was coming for an additional offsite stay. Nothing changed in my MDE. Maybe this represents a test "invitation"?

Ok, the point I'm making is then it would be my ADRs that would be the trigger because besides that, Disney has no idea when I would be at Disney. How would they know I'm not 60 days out today? Remember, I don't have a reservation to go by. So if someone had an account set up on Disney but have no ADRs or anything linked to the account would this option still show up

The dates are locked past a certain date. So currently, you can only make FP+ April 3rd. If your trip is anytime before this, you can make FP+ but April 3rd is as far as you can make FP+ from today.

Well, maybe that is because it hasn't opened yet. I thought I read that it off-site guest would be able to use those prebooked FP+s starting on April 7. That would mean that the earliest booking would start on Feb. 6. Maybe check again on Feb. 6 and see if you can do anything.

I know that onsite guest's triggers are the start of their stay but Disney doesn't have that info from offsite. Right now it is ADRs that is triggering the date kateandkids can start selecting her FP+ so it would stand to reason that if you didn't have an ADR you wouldn't be able to select any FP+s. If it wasn't the trigger, then she would be able to start making selections on 2/6 for 4/7 even though she doesn't want a FP+ for that day. Disney isn't allowing her to make in selections until 60 days from her first ADR.

I would think that cancelling that ADR would not affect your FP+ but who knows. And maybe that is just short term to keep everything from opening up all at once. :confused3

How is works is that Disney opens up FP+ reservations for 60 days from today. So from today, FP+ is open to making reservations until 3rd April 2014. So you can make reservations up to the 3rd of April but not past that. It's the same system for everything, no one can currently make them more than 60 days out

Our situation is slightly different. We have AP's and a Magic Band from a previous stay. We currently have no resort stay booked however we will be there in May. We already have our ADR's all booked. However when we look at the FP+ section, this is what happens

We can make FP+ reservations from today until April 3rd but not before. Tomorrow April 4th will open up and so on.

I think the difference is you have a MB from a previous stay and an AP. I've read that those that have an AP, once they stay onsite one time and get their MBs then it opens all FP+ booking for them.

Me and I think Kateandkids don't have MB and we have regular tickets. The website is telling Kateandkids that she can starting booking her FP+s on Feb. 22 which is 60 days from her first ADR. If it was just based on 60 days out and it is true that offsite guest can start using those prebook FP+s on April 7, then her window should open on Feb. 6. Her start date is based on her first ADR.

I know you can only book 60 days out for everyone but the only reason I can see that Kate won't be able to book on Feb. 6 is because that is more than 60 days from her first ADR. She even posted that when she add a ADR for one day earlier that it changed the date she could start by moving it up one day. So it seems that for off-site guest that don't have MBs and/or APs, must have an ADR to open up prebooking. Again, that could change at any point.

Hi, just wondering if you know with an AP can we make FP+ ressies for all of pur days..off-site included....or only for the days we are at a Disney resort? We book into a dis resort on may 2 then off for a cruise and universal, then back to a dis resort for 3 nts then off to a villa for 3 weeks.

Just wondering with our APs whether we will be able to pre-book our fp+ ressies for the whole stay. Our APs will be linked to MDE (as soon as I ring them to do this as our codes from phone purchase aren't working).

With an AP, it's slightly different. If you're staying at a WDW resort, you can make FP+ reservations for as many days as you have a resort stay booked. So if you have a resort stay booked for 1st February to 18th February, you should be able to make FP+ reservations for the 18 days.

However, without a resort stay, AP's can generally only make 7 days at a time. I'm saying generally because there have been a few reports that people could make more than 7 days without a resort stay booked. Anyway (I hope I'm not confusing you) it's a "rolling" 7 days. So if you have 7 days worth of FP+ booked and you've used day 1, you can log on and make FP+ reservations for day 8.

I'm assuming that you don't already have a Magic Band? In your case, you would be able to make your FP+ reservations from May 2. You couldn't make them for May 1 or before. You should be able to hold 7 days worth of FP+ at a time. Once you've used day 1, you can then make another days worth of FP+.

I hope this has helped. Feel free to ask anymore Q's via here or PM :)

Yes, I have an MB from a previous trip. I'm not sure Disney would tie the ability to make FP reservations to dining reservations simply because 1. Not everyone makes dining reservations (some never make any) 2. Not everyone makes an ADR for everyday (we certainly don't)

To test the theory, make a "mock" reservation for April 3rd. Then go and see if you can make FP+ reservations any earlier? Then of course, don't forget to cancel the reservation :)

Thanks so much for your reply :goodvibes

No because we are in Aus we have to pick up our magic bands from the resort on May 2. MDE finally let me link our APs tonight and it says we can start booking fp+ from March 3.....which is 60 days out from May 2. I guess we can begin pre-booking our fp+ for the 7 days then :-)

So just to clarify, by rolling 7 days, do you mean...if on March 3 I book fps for May 2, on March 4 I would be able to book them for May 3 & on March 5 for May 4 etc for a total of 7 days (or maybe more if I am lucky). We have ADRs booked frequently throughout the 4 weeks at Disney (even while staying at the villa) so maybe we will score being able to book fp+ ressies for those days too :cloud9: a girl can dream hey!!! haha

Thanks again for your help. I can't wait to start booking them

ps: I just noticed you are a fellow Aussie :yay:

How did your 3 hour layover in LAX go? Was it enough time to get through immigration, get bags, clear cutoms, drop bags and get to the other terminal for the Orlando flight? Were your flights with Virgin and Delta?

Sorry for all the questions!! This is the one part I am worried about!

No, the days don't have to be consecutive, it's just 7 days over all. So you could make FP+ reservations for May 2 and May 3 - then if you were leaving the resort for 4 days, you could make FP+ reservations for May 8, May 10, May 13, May 15, May 18. Once you have used May 2, you could make another days worth of FP+ reservations for May 20.

At this point, you can only make FP+ reservations for 60 days out so you'll need to keep going on the site and doing them daily until you've made them all.

Ah righto, I am with you now!! Cool :) sounds like we defs made the right choice in getting us the APs. This is all great to hear, thanks you so much :worship:

I would be totally confused without you letting me in on it all :lmao:

ps: I just noticed you are a fellow Aussie :yay:

Can I ask how your layover went in LAX? We also have a 3 hour layover and am worried we will be pushing to have enough time to get through immigration, get bags, clear customs and get to the other terminal for flight to MCO. Any tips?
