Possible Free Dining Dates for 2016

"During an apparent computer glitch this week, dates for a possible Free Dining promotion at Disney World were seen on the Disney travel agent website. The dates listed were:

• 8/23-10/1/16
• 11/15-11/21/16
• 11/26-11/28/16
• 12/10-12/21/16

The information was quickly removed, but it looks like we will probably see this information being released soon. If/when Free Dining is announced, we will update this page with the information, so keep checking back!"

Staying 11/18-11/23, booked room only and bought tickets separately to beat the price increase. Safe to say I am going to be unable to take advantage of the 11/15-11/21 free dining? Is there ever a room-only deal at the same time as a free dining deal?

Yes, it's possible that a RO could be released along side FD.

FD requires a minimum 2 day PH ticket per person, so you could save those for a future date (or vice versa). Your dates appear to be are safe if the rumor holds true, since your checkin date falls within the FD dates.

If these dates hold true and given how the BB deal for this year excluded most of October plus the fact that room availability is pretty much slim pickings right now for that month, then it's looking very grim that there will be any RO discounts for October .

Your check-in date has to be within the covered dates.

According to past years your check-in date has to be within the timeframe. You would have to check-in between Dec. 10-21. This is what has been the rule in the past. SO if your dates were Dec. 17-23, you would be elgible. But Dec. 3-11 would not. Hope this helps!

On another thread, someone who seems in the know suggested that exclusions would be: AoA Mermaid rooms, All Star Movies, POFQ, BLT, Poly Bungalows, and GF Villas. But they also said it was speculation, not sure on what it was based.

They also speculated that a ticket upgrade to parkhopper might be required, that value resorts would have the QS plan and all others the DDP.

But it all seems pretty speculative at this point.

Our dates are 8/20 - 8/27. Would we have to buy park tickets for 8/20 - 8/23 and then different tickets from 8/23 - 8/27 to get free dining? (If the rumored dates are true). Could I get 8 day tickets with the later free dining reservation and use them early sine I am staying at a Disney hotel? TIA!

In 2015 Free dining overlapped with room only for my stay.

I chose the room only and it saved me a ton of money by taking that offer and adding the DDP.

Looks like Dec 3rd is blacked out..
So should I expect for a room only discount to not be released either?

That Dec. 3rd week is Pop Warner week, so most of the values and some moderates will be filled, probably the reason for the exclusion.

I always just paid the additional fee. Everything can change, but you were allowed to do so in the past.
