OK, here goes...we're thinking of buying at SSR through DVC. DH isn't convinced that it's a good value for us, but that's kinda beside the point right now.

Here's my problem, we would be buying before our first trip to WDW (last time I went was 20 years ago) but we have a 5 year old daughter, so I know that it's going to be a every year or every other year trip for a long time. Not to mention that I LOVE it there and would love to go every year or more.

But I don't know that SSR is where we would want to stay every time, escpecially since we haven't been before. Right now VWL seems like the most convenient with a 5 year old (but I'm not that into the decor). I feel in a panic though because of the current DVC offers and I don't want to miss them (I know that's why they do it) so I don't want to wait to buy either. And resales freak me out some, I don't know why. Aaargh!! I just feel so confused.

Do we buy now, whether or not we want SSR to be our home resort? Do we wait until after we visit and miss out on current incentives and waste $4000 on rooms? Do we take a chance on a resale later without DVC and without the extra 12 years? I just don't know!!!

Y'all are so knowledgable. I look forward to your insight. Thanks!

If SSR doesn't do it for you then purchase a resale somewhere else...

I own at BWV just visited SSR last trip and it wasn't for me...I like the hotel feel.....and the convience to MGM and Epcot is what I enjoy the most.....

resales are lots less money too..but you do get it for less time...That could be a toss up for some..

If SSR doesn't appeal to you, definitely look at resales. It's much better to have that 11 month booking window at a resort that you WANT to stay at, rather than stress about being able to get in to a non-home resort at 7-months. Try to keep in perspective that 38 years vs 50 years is not that big of a deal at this point in time. They are both a LONG ways off. Good luck with your decision!

You really owe it to yourself to look into resales a little more. Call Jerry (my agent) at The Timeshare Store and I'm sure he can help put you at ease. There's nothing to be "freaked" about.

If you're not that hot on SSR and still buy into it without fully understanding and considering resale, now that would be scary.:earseek:
