Possible Downgrade of room for One Night?

I have a upcoming reservation for the boardwalk villas. The reservation is actually 3 different ones. It was a little challenging getting all the nights I needed but it was finally a success..

The first night we are in a Studio Pool/Garden View, the next 3 a Studio Standard View and the last 3 1BR.

My question is about the first night. I know it might seem strange that we would want to downgrade views/rooms but we would prefer not to have to move if possible after the first night. Any chance that if a Standard is available they would let us take that room instead of a pool/garden view so that we would not have to move after the first night.

We don't mind moving later in the week. But prefer not to move twice. I was wondering if any one has tried to do this before and if they had success.

If there is not availability for the standard view rooms so that you can book than their won't be availability at the resort. Unless the were willing to look for someone with only a 1 night stay to basically trade rooms with you there is no way they could accommodate doing this.

Wait list the view you want and stalk the website every day--just don't try for the same night as I need! Good luck.

Definitely stalk the website. I did that last year and got what I wanted. I was surprised some of the rooms that were open for one night when I checked. AKV value & club, BLT standard.

I got stuck moving on the same accommodations at the beach club (in a studio) before. The 2 #s were some how not linked. Not sure what/why/whatever, but we added a day on after the fact and had to move. So even if they did down grade you... Maybe this wouldn't even guarantee not moving. I think a Down grade is possible but I wouldn't plan. Stalk the site waiting 1 day wl at a time and take what you can get.

DVC is generally hard line on this issue. I had a 2 BR exchange in once at VB and offered to give up the studio portion since I didn't need it and they couldn't do so.
