I've heard and read alot on these boards about cutbacks at WDW. Has anyone been to Disneyland recently or heard of possible cutbacks- no EE days, shorter park hours, or closing rides at different times of the day at Disneyland.
I was there from Oct. 8-12 and didn't hear or notice any substantial changes. Park hours at this time are already short and were scheduled prior to the attacks. (DL closed at 8, DCA at 6, except weekends when it was open until much later.)
EE was still in place, though DCA doesn't have EE anyway. I was actually surprised at how BUSY it was, considering recent events, especially GC which appeared to be pretty full.
Hi!
Actually, from what I understand, DL has a much larger local clientele than WDW and is therefore not hurting as badly. DL has about 400,000 AP's, WDW only has 100,000.
I have friends who work at DCA and though the hours are a bit shorter than normal, not much else has changed.
You hear so much about the cutbacks at wdw but little about disneyland. It does seem bad to have fanatmasic closed though, you would think that would be a good inducement to keep people in the park till closing.
Fantasmic is closed temporarily (until next year) and will no doubt be back. Disney is hoping that the holiday fireworks, parades, and the new LuminAria fireworks at DCA will keep everyone happily occupied in the evenings.
Try to find something to eat inside DL after 4PM! Plaza Inn is just about it.
We were there 10/15-18. There was a sign at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ telling you to go to Rancho Del Zocalo which was also closed the entire time.
Everybody has to eat, right? So they are trying to funnel everyone to only a few restraunts or out to Downtown Disney. We ended up settling for pretzels for lunch one day and a Carl's Jr. another day.
Had dinner one night at Y Arriba Y Arriba in Downtown Disney. What a fun place! Food, drinks, and service were all great! Surprisingly a great place for kids.
