can anyone tell me all the possible dining rotations? i know there's apl, but what else is there? and i read somewhere that if you have little ones, it's most likely apl, correct? (that's what we had last time when we went...and we have little ones...)

am trying to plan which day for palo...so i need all the possible "scenarios"...yes, it's my obsessive/compulsive planning disorder at work here!

since you're reading, any thoughts on the west coast cruises, and when would be a good night for palo? or for brunch? i'd take all suggestions...thankyou! :flower:

I believe you can have LAP, PLA, or APL.

I know on our last cruise when DH and I went alone we had L(well, Tritons on the Wonder)AP and that was mostly adults only or families with older kids. Im counting on definitely not having that one this time with a 5 &8 yo, so I booked our massage on the moring that rotation would have the character breakfast. Hopefully the theory proves correct and we dont get that one.

We have also had PTA when we sailed with a party of 10, ages 8 months to 60. I dont what that means though. :confused3 ;)

Ive booked Palo for Thursday/semi formal night. I figure Ill only have to get the kids really dressed up once, we will be dressed semi formally anyway, and I read somewhere(I forget where) that is the menu I want to miss. Again, hopefully that is all correct. ;)

DBF and I were on the Magic last month (No kids) and were very suprised to get the APL rotation... Honestly, it seemed to be an even mix of families with children of all different ages (toddlers to teens). It was the Late Seating.

Do you have early or late seating?

DH and I never want to miss any dining rotation w/our DD, so we double-dip. (We have late seating.) We book Palo for early seating (6:30 I think), and have coffee while we join our DD in the dining room. That way we don't miss any surprises in the dining rooms.

We did the 3 night cruise on the Wonder on 4/28 with 2 kids (9 and 6) and had the PTA rotation. We liked it very much and we were glad that Animator's Palate was last. The food was great and the "show" was fabulous...a great ending to a fantastic experience.

we have early seating. so we'd have to miss a dinner time with our 2 DSs. that's ok. we eat with them all the time! every single night, for that matter! so a day on the cruise wouldn't be much to miss. and besides, it'd be nice to have dinner with just DH & myself! won't have to "cut up food into little pieces", or "help them draw pictures of a car/house/what not", or anything else that might come with eating w/ little ones.

i don't even know which one i'm hoping for...so i can make all my "scenarios"...oh well...:flower:

It's not so much a matter of missing dinner with your kids, it's that entertainment in the dining rooms that's a do not miss (IMHO.) Our waiter walked on his hands during 'tropical night,' AFTER the the patrons in the dining rooms were encouraged to do the 'limbo.' Also, the last night is the 'It's a Small world' presentation. Then there's the light show at Animator's Palatte. Don't skip Palo by any means. I enjoy a dinner alone with DH too. :earsgirl: But I can't suggest which night to give up for Palo, as we never want to miss the fun. By the way, the waiters 'cut up the food into little pieces' for the kids, and ours did little magic tricks. ::yes::

We had small children, early seating and ended up with T(L)AP, early seating. We had quite a few little ones on that rotation, so be prepared for anything!
