Apparently Amazon is randomly giving some customers $20, $40, or $60 credit towards the purchase of a Kindle. You are supposed to see a banner announcing your discount on amazon.com if you got one. I didn't :sad2:, but a bunch of people did. I guess it automatically comes off in your cart if you got a discount. It's not transferable. Good luck!

It's random I guess. No love on my account (heavy kindle user), DH's (no kindle use on his account) or DD's (no kindle use on her account). It's disappointing because my kindle recently died for no reason and I've been seriously contemplating replacing it this Christmas. Ah well, hope someone here gets a nice surprise. :thumbsup2

Yeah I am totally thinking about buying a kindle fire hd 8.9". We need a new tablet so I just logged in but no dice :( maybe I'll try on my husband's phone.

Did you try putting "Kindle" in the search box and going to the "Kindle Store"? When I did that, I was offered $40 off an 8.9 fire just in the regular list. No banner.

I got it. $40 off a Kindle. But it's only good on a special selection of Kindles and it's only good on the ones with special offers. It makes a regular Kindle $30. I don't have a Kindle but I do buy the random free kindle book to read on my phone and that may be why I got the offer. For that price I'd almost do it BUT I don't want the special offers.

ETA - it was a banner offer - it was good only thru October 30 and I had to click the banner and click redeem to get the discount.

It is because they are clearing out the Kindle HD 2012 models to make room for the 2013 HD and HEX models. Amazon local customers received an offer last week for 20% off all of the refurbished models. I bought one for a $100. It is nice , but I actually like my original Kindle Fire better.

The HDX model is included in the offer I received. It's still only the one with special offers tho.

The special offers are only on the screen saver screen, they don't interfere with reading, if that helps.

I received this offer through an email at 3 am this morning! I had read about it in a FB group I'm in and forgot about it until I was just cleaning out my inbox.

You could click the link through the email. I got the $60 off and it was off the regular Kindle or the Kindle Fire. You could do one of several different options (8 GB, 16 GB, etc). It came off automatically in the cart!

One xmas present done!

Nothing for me. I bought 3 Kindle Fire HD's almost one year ago.

Nothing for us either. :( We'd love a tablet and probably will buy one anyway. Like Disney's PIN codes I bet these are offered only to people their data says wouldn't buy at full price.

I just got $40 off a 6"Kindle with ads. This one is for me. YAY! Thank you for the heads up!
