How about we post some positive stuff on this thread? There's been so much negativity lately (much of it perfectly valid), but there are always "good" things in life as well - even something as small as what your child said to you today; something pretty you saw on the way to work; a great show you watched that made you laugh; a funny joke; your PERFECT hair day; an unexpected kindness shown to you; a kindness you showed someone else; etc..
Let's just try to lighten things up a bit..
An "old" memory came to me today when I was listening to the radio.. The folks that have been around here for a long time will remember this, but some of the newer posters might get a chuckle out of it.. (I know I do - every single time - years later..)
My adult DD was in the hospital a number of years ago and on the day she was being released, I went to pick her up - with my DGD along for the ride.. I can't remember exactly how old she was - maybe 4? or about to turn 4? - but anyhow, she was in the car seat in the back and I had the radio on.. I'm a big country fan and when one of my favorite songs came on - "Can You Paint Me A Birmingham" - I turned it up quite loud..
When the song was over, DGD called to me from behind and said:
"Grandma, why does that man want someone to paint him a burning ham??"

To this day, I can't listen to that song without laughing - and have caught myself on several occasions singing "burning ham" rather than "Birmingham"..
