Positive thoughts please-ups and downs p.42

I agree with the others - avoid Dr. Google! Also don't worry about updates like others have said. Just come here when you need to talk or vent or whatever.

Continued positive vibes...

Thanks everyone.

I feel a lot more calm today. Spending time with him, however brief, feeds my soul.

The results of the echo are back and he does have an infection in a valve of his heart. There is no damage and they expect it will fully heal. They can’t say yet if there will be lingering damage, but they don’t think so. He has a bit of a fever but the dr did say there will be days that are better than others. He has more movement than he did on Sunday and is able to stay awake and participate in conversation more.

I am not working on Thursday so I am going to go back then and spend the day with him.

Recovery time is up in the air but it will be long term, not short term like they were first saying. As long as there is recovery I can wait. Even if there isn’t, I’m not going anywhere. Our four year anniversary is on Boxing Day and I really hope he’s home by then. If not, I’ll crawl into his bed and have a sleepover lol

Happy to hear you have a more peaceful heart and mind today. Sounds like you're getting some pretty encouraging prognoses from the medical team, which is wonderful.

Prayers and positive thoughts still headed your way!

Glad you are getting answers. That is good! How did they suspect a heart issue? What symptoms did he have?

I don’t know why they suspected a heart issue. He had a fever and is still swollen and is really weak. He also is so weak that he can’t really use his arms or legs. I guess that’s why they get paid the big bucks lol

Good news they have a diagnosis and a medical plan

Recovery might be slow, but Richard will be back to 100% over time

Hopefully you’ll have that sleepover on Boxing Day at your home

I hope so too. He’s 6’5” and takes up every square inch of the hospital bed lol

They actually were talking about getting him a different bed because he’s getting a bed sore. The new mattress will puff up with air to change pressure points. I guess I’ll see when I spend the day with him on Thursday.

He had them call me tonight to ask me to bring him his phone so he must be improving if he’s ready to surf.

GREAT NEWS! Glad to hear about steady progress! :goodvibes::yes::

Sending prayers and positive thoughts to both of you.

Don't worry about updating us often - take care of yourself and remember to breathe.

One moment, one day at a time.

Hoping he's up to getting on your last nerve very soon! I cannot wait to check in and hear that report, because that's a sure sign normalcy is returning.

One day at a time takes patience, but it gets the job done. Hang in there!

I went and saw Richard today. The plan was that I would spend the day with him but it wasn’t meant to be. I could tell something was off the second I said hi to him. He’s in a lot of pain and he seems agitated today. Not really focusing too great and kept falling asleep mid thought.

He is being transferred to another hospital tomorrow to have surgery on his feet. They are going to drain fluid and do some other repairs.

Once they have a firm time, they are going to call me.

I’m feeling really helpless right now and I hate it. I’m used to being the patient, not the hand wringer.

Cut yourself some slack, waiting and not being able to do anything is a very frustrating and stressful thing. Hold onto the thought that they have a plan and are working to get his systems back on the right track. This is an obstacle that it sounds like there is a path around. Prayers and good thoughts for a smoother path tomorrow. I hope Richard is feeling more comfortable quickly and you get some peace of mind.
