We are thinking about going there for breakfast one day during our stay. I have heard a lot of negative reviews lately when someone posts about wanting to dine at H&V.

Is there anyone out there who has had a positive experience lately?

I haven't gone to H&V for breakfast, only lunch and dinner. That being said, I have only heard that the chocolate waffles aren't very good and the usual gripe that comes from every Disney restaurant that the eggs aren't good enough.

If you want to try it, go try it. Everyone has a different opinion. Just as an example, it seems everyone here on the DIS worships the ground Le Cellier is built on. I personally think Le Cellier is low quality - I have a better steakhouse, with better theming and ambience here at home - and I still for the life of me can't figure out why people flock here for cheese soup and pretzel bread.

Everyone can have an opinion and it may not coincide with yours. Check the menu out and see if it appeals to you. Realize it's a buffet and not V&A's - sometimes I think people go out of their way to find something to gripe about if everything isn't completely perfect.

Have a great meal!

We LOVE H&V for lunch! It is an absolute not miss on every trip - we just haven't tried breakfast yet. The character interaction is always one of the best for us. They still had some of the breakfast out at 11:30 last time we were there & it looked good to me! Hope this helps!

We love H&V for lunch. The food is very good and the characters are great.

It isn't gourmet, but I enjoyed it more than dinner at Chef Mickey's lst March. By the way, that being said, I'll also go back to Chef Mickey's!

We love the breakfest at H&V. We decided to try it a few years ago and now it is a must do!

6 thumbs up!!

Here's our review --
The 6 of us, ages ranging from 41 to 3 years, had breakfast there in December 2002 and of all the places we were everybody agreed this was the best.

The food -- okay it's not on the same level as a 4 star restaurant but you're not at a 4 star restaurant either. We enjoyed it. Not one of us had a bad item off the buffet. Our 20 year old got up for seconds, thirds, fourths ... I lost track after that, he might have even had fifths!

The characters -- Minnie, Pluto or Goofy (I can't remember which) and then Chip and Dale. They each came around twice, signed the autograph books and posed for pictures. And they didn't just interact with the little ones either. We were in a booth so they couldn't get in the picture with us in the back but they made a point of waving or shaking hands with us. Chip/Dale kept messing up our 16 year olds hair each time he came by too.

In comparison -- at the Garden Grill, which was empty at our 4pm seating, they stopped once. They walked past our table several times but they never stopped again. At the Crystal Palace the CM told us to stay seated and all the characters would come around. Well, Tigger never signed the books, we got him later at AK though, and Pooh never came around. We asked a different CM and she told us you have to go up to him. We felt rushed at the Castle breakfast, the Norway breakfast was good.

I'd have to say for us that H & V was our number one favorite, hands down, Norway and Crystal Palace were tied, then the Castle and dead last was the Garden Grille.

At H & V Minne and Pluto or Goofy did a little song and dance thing a couple times. Yes, it was loud but it was cute. Most everybody was clapping, taking pictures, kids were getting up to dance ... not ours, they're too shy.

We'd go back there. I think you have to keep in mind that buffets are loud/noisy, we have buffets places here at home and they are always noisy. Why should Disney buffets be any different? The food is okay. It's for a buffet so it's mass prepared. You can't expect to die for, write home about food at a buffet no matter wher the buffet is. The money you're paying is as much for the chacter interaction as the atmosphere. We hd a meal in Chicago once (Kahunaville), it's like the RainForest Cafe. It was well over $50 for 2 adult meals and 1 kids meal. The food was mediocre but the atmosphere was great, that's what we paid for.

Sorry I got so long with this -- bottom line is we loved it and would go back again!!!!!!!!!!!

We've done H&V Breakfast twice and loved it each time!
We don't have children, but all the kiddos we saw during each breakfast seemed to be having a blast! The characters are very enthusiastic and attentive, as is the staff.

I'll add my vote for H&V. We've only done lunch (two different trips), but the food is good for buffet fare, and the character interaction is better than most other character meals at the World.

We love H&V for brunch. We allways get a 11:10 PS and the breakfast is up on one side untill 11:30 so we get to have some of both! WE do have to pay the lunch price but with 4 picky kids it is worth it!I love the Mickey waffles with strawberry sauce.:D

H&V is a must for us, but again, we only do lunch and dinner. We just are not breakfast people. We also don't care for LeCellier's, tried it 3 times and just couldn't figure out what folks were talking about (adverage service and adverage food). For our 2 weeks in May, we will probably do H&V at least 3 times. Hubbys loves this place (along with the Plaza Restraurant and 50s Prime Time).

Don't know about breakfast, because we like to take advantage of the lower crowds in the morning to tour the parks, but the lunch is absolutely wonderful! We usually get the 1st seating at 11:30, since we don't eat much of a breakfast. The food is plentiful, temperature appropriate and very tasty... the is quite a large selection, as well. The service was very attentive, and the characters were the best anywhere.

Hope you will give it a try!:)

Thanks everyone! I feel better about keeping our PS.

Thanks to everyone for the info -- we will be there Sunday!

We make it a must for every trip. We go for lunch about 2:00. There is hardly anyone in there at that time. On both visits we have had the best character interaction. Chip and Dale sitting at our table coloring with the kids, Minnie feeding my son ice cream, dancing with Minnie Mouse. My 3 year old got a little crush and said "Minnie is SO smart!" This is the best time of day to go there. The food was still fresh and being replenished. We thought the food was pretty good. Better than Chef Mickey's, but not as good as 1900 Park Fair.
