My friend DOES NOT want to get wet on any of the rides so I've scrapped all of the water rides during our visit since they all seem like they would definitely soak you.

My question is I've read that there is water at Posiedon's Fury. Will we definitely get wet? If yes, a little or a lot?

thanks!

Wow, not wet.. thats a bummer...

That scraps a good hunk of IOA..

Posideon has a water vortex, like a swirling wall of water you walk through. If you are the first few in line, you watch the effect, and may feel misting drops, but not anywhere near WET or even close to drenched (unless the wall drops or the effect is broken, just kidding!) If you are in the middle of the group you hear the water, and see it, but its not horrible.. its really neat, one of my favorite parts of the show.

As for other things...

You will get a few drops on you at Spiderman, I mean drops, like as in Mister fans.
Camp Jurassic is wet. Dudley is wet, Popeye is wet. One fish two fish is wet. Jurassic Park River Adventure is wet (but not horrible if you are in back rows.)

I just came back from two weeks in August at Orlando, and it was good to get wet.

you will get a bit moist from the humidity in the VORTEX and a few real drops.

in the last show room just stay away from the front and you will not get wet:smooth:

The good news is, the vortex doesn't collapse on an "all too regular" basis! But I've heard when it does....

OK everyone, please explain to me what Posideon is (what kind of ride). I did not get to go on a lot of rides because we were only there two days and I basically spent most of the time with a baby and a 4 year old. At least I got a chance to ride some! This next trip we are staying six nights, so I should be able to ride most of them. Well just not the flume types or rollar coasters LOL!

Oh good, so this is something I can see with my younger ones ?

How young?
The problem with attractions like this is that what scares one kid, delights another. My kids are 8 and 10, regular visitors and my 8 year old won't go on it. He's a sort of "afraid of things that go bump in the night" (since he goes on Hulk, dragons, etc) kind of kid. There is darkness and they try to make it scary on some level. So if your kids are afraid of the dark, etc...they might not enjoy it. There are pyro effects and loud noises.

You might want to check it out first and decide for yourself since only you know your kids.
Honestly, I still don't "get" why my younger one won't do it, he's old enough to know it's not real, and has been a regular in these parks for a few years now!

My older one doesn't ask to do it either.
It's fine with me, it's a cool attraction, but I never feel the need to go on it again and again. But that's me.

thanks to everyone for responding :)

I think it is safe to say she will like that show

Yes, it is a bummer that she doesn't like wet rides (and I don't like roller coasters :) ) BUT we only have one day to do both parks so I'm thinking we will have plenty to do!

It's not a ride its a show.

Escape from the Lost City: This special effects show is a walk-through attraction, along the lines of Universal Studios Alfred Hitchcock stage show. With an old sage named The Keeper as their tour guide, guests are transported to the lost city of Atlantis to witness the final battle between Poseidon and his archenemy, Zeus, the king of the gods. The battle features a mixture of computer-generated animation, live-action, fire-and-water effects, and film projected onto huge water screens. And for those of you who were wondering just exactly how one gets to Atlantis, you get there by walking through a 42-foot vortex containing more than 17,000 gallons of water.

****SOME SPOILERS*****

Technically, that is not the "story" of the show now. An archeology student named "Taylor' is looking for his mentor Professor Baxter. The prof was working on this excavation site of Atlantis, and had uncovered something.

The first room is the intro room, you hear how Taylor is calling the Prof, and is looking might scared. He then does a neat light effect (my son thought it was cool anyway), which then awakens Posiedons evil enemy, Darkenon.

Then you are ushered into the second room. You see an "eye type" thing, and some other cool things.. one being a skeleton. Taylor stumbles onto Posiedon trident, which gives him powers, and which he eventually has to give back to Posiedon.

The the water vortex, then the third and final room. It is a battle between Posiedon, and Darkenon, complete with fire/water effects, water screen, and some other cool stuff.

Wow! You're right, Cindy! I didn't even read the description of the show I just assumed it was current...since it has been a while since it changed.

That's the old (original) Poseidon's Fury show, Mike... :)

Personally, I thought the old man was a hoot...Taylor just doesn't "do it" for me.

Of course, I have a *thing* for older guys anyway  :jester:

LOL

Just coming back from Disney Paris. My 11yo daughter LOVED all the coasters there (and space mountain is dark and very fast) and cried at honey I shrunk the audience. Well, that's how it is.

Back to Posiedon, my seven almost 8 year old son loved it.

My daughter then four, now five was ok with it. The first room Darkenon has a deep voice, so that startled her. The finale well the fire was hot...

She didn't cry, but wanted to be held. This is the same girl that went on EVERYTHING that she could with her height restrictions.. She is one who laughed at Jurassic Park, but wasn't crazy about KONG...

And let's not forget about the talking fountain out front... it's a "don't miss" for the kids.. but keep your distance if you don't want to get wet!
