Portofino early check in

Has anyone had experience with early check in at portofino? We are arriving at 11 am.

You can check in as early as you want. Your room may or may not be ready. If it is not ready they will give you keys (but not the room number) and you can store your luggage with bell services. They will call your cell with your room number when your room is ready and you can go straight there and have them deliver your bags or you can pick up your bags yourself.

We typically take an early flight and arrive at PBH before 10AM. Our room has always been ready at that time of the day...even in the peak summer months. We stay at PBH at least 2x per year. We always seem to get the best rooms when checking in early.

Same thing at RPR. We checkin around 6:30-8:00 am and only once our room has not been ready. We have been real lucky.

does anyone know....when you check-in "early" and your room is not ready, can the desk person see the room you have been assigned to? I know they don't tell you the room number until the room is ready, but I'm wondering if you ask "can you tell me if my assigned room will have a pullout sofa chair"? Or "can you tell me if my assigned room will ahve a patio?"
Just wondering b/c that way you could ask right then and there is there is anything else available if the answer is not what you hoped for.

I'm not sure if the front desk has all that information but they do know your room number and would probably do their best to find out for you. They would know if it is a deluxe room but since most deluxe rooms have the pullout they might not know which ones do and which ones don't. They should know if you have a patio though.

Hi, we just got back from a great stay at PBH. We arrived at 1pm on 7/27 ,but our room was not ready until 3:30pm. They wouldn't tell us the room number, but she was able to tell me that the room she was waiting on for us had the pull out chair I was hoping to get since there was 5 of us. Good luck!

We just got back yesterday. We called to let them know we would have a late check in. I asked them if they were able to give us a room in the west wing. They told us they did and that we had a balcony and a sofa bed. We were thrilled. When we arrived in our room, we had a balcony and a great view of the active pool, but no sofa bed.

The funny thing is, when we arrived at the hotel, we wanted to see if we were getting the same room. Again, they told us we had the balcony and the sofa bed!

We were disappointed, but since it was after 10 and we were exhausted...we never said anything. For some reason, check in took a long time. There were 2 employees working and both were checking in people. We waited over 20 minutes for our turn. Then it took them forever to print our keys etc.


We had a great trip and we did enjoy the balcony and the great view.

Checked in last week at 9:30 a.m. and room wasn't ready until 1 p.m. They gave me the keys, etc. and gave me a room by the elevator which I requested.

Checked in at 6:30 AM last year and our room was ready. SWEET!

We also just stayed there. We check in at 9:00AM on Saturday 8/13. Our room(s) were not ready. We got our keys and went to the park. Our room was not ready until 2:00PM. We had a great time and really enjoyed PBR.

Just wanted to say we just returned from Portofino Bay. We checked in at noon, and they put us in 2 connected rooms that were immediately available. What we booked- 2 Garden 2Q rooms, what we got.................
1 Deluxe Villa room connected to 2 queen villa room (which had floor to ceiling Beach pool view We didn't expect a ready room, just wanted our Express passes from the room key

The resort is BEAUTIFUL! Enjoy!!!!
