Hello! :flower: I am interested in finding out more about this Club Lounge. What type of foods are served for breakfast and is it sufficient to kept us till lunch? Also, how should we schedule our time to be able to take full advantage of this extra? :wave2:

I didn't think it was worth the extra money. The breakfast was pretty much continental.
It's also not contained to one area of the hotel. They try & give you a room close to the lounge but you can be anywhere, unlike HRH & RPR.
They had a little dessert hour around 3:00 with very small cannolis and biscotti, nice if you are around the resort at that time.
Happy hour is from 5-7. They only had cheese and crackers and a cold antipasto, beer and wine. Then at 8:00 they put out cookies and milk.
Nothing worth at least the $80.00 extra a night we paid for club.
I have done club at RPR many times and there was a lot more food and a much friendlier staff.
I did like the pool table and all the games you could check out.

:flower: Thanks for the reply CPM. We are taking a much needed vacation. Alot of job stress for both of us. So I wanted everything to be right, especially for my husband. I had a travel agent make the arrangements. Only recently did I find out about this site. I wish I would of found it sooner. I'll know next time to check out more details before booking. How was the selection of beer? Another person said there were 2 wine choices. Any details I can find out are much appreciated. Again, thanks for the reply. :wave2:

Not much of a selection. They had some Italian beer and maybe two domestics.
You really should make sure the difference is worth it. I figured out ours was $81.00 a night. I could have gotten a room for $199.00 and paid $270.00 for club.
I would have changed, but there were 5 of us. I figured with breakfast, and a few glasses of wine, and beer for DH, plus alll the hot chocolate and bottled water my kids took, it was about even. Normally there are only three of us, I would have changed if that were the case.
If it doesn't figure out for you you might consider just getting a nice room or change over to RPR club if you can, it's so nice over there. You feel more special.

:flower: Hi Cheryl! Thanks for the reply and the information. Can you tell me if the PBH has ice machines on the floors and if so, do you have to pay for the ice? Thanks! :wave2:

They have ice machines, and you do not have to pay for ice.

:flower: Thanks Cheryl! I plan on taking along some of those freezer bags ( big grocery bags) from the grocery store, put ice in them along with extra's we get from the club lounge. That way if we don't make it back the next night for the beer & wine from 5-7 will have some. We paid alot extra for the club lounge also. I am going to attempt to benefit from it as much as I can. It will be my husband, my son who is 10 and me. A cooler would be hard to take on the plane and I don't want to waste time running to buy one and then have to leave it. Do you know how close it would be for us to walk from the PBH to an outside restaruant? Such as this Ponderosa someone else asked about. Thanks! :wave2:

Check out the Portofino BaY Hotel information at the top of the page- 16 I listed the hours, offerings etc. for you.

I have to tell you that we had a great time when we stayed at the club level at the Royal Pacific, and they have a huge lounge! I really liked the friendly staff, and the goodies were great! I want to stay on that level again, I'm spoiled now! Kelly :cheer2: :flower: princess: :lovestruc

Lisa, you can get a small or medium size soft sided, folding cooler at Walmart. I found them in the sporting goods. It will take up very little room in your luggage as it folds flat. I pack the med size one and we just fill it half way with ice from the vending machine once a day. It keeps bevs nice and cold.

Try Sals for pizza at PBH. We will be going back for our second stay soon. You will love the resort. Have a great time!

Thanks Muffy! You're a queen! I appreciate that tip on the cooler. I was thinking of that, but didn't think I could find one. I never thought of the sporting goods section. We will try Sal's for pizza. Any other recommendations on where to eat? We will be leaving Monday Feb. 21.

Lisa,
There really isn't anywhere else in walking distance other then on property.
We ate at the Kitchen at the HRH last time, it was good and very reasonable. You can also go to any restaurant at City Walk. The shuttle will take you anywhere on property and will go right there if no one else is on the bus.
Sals is very good. We ordered pizza from there after happy hour was over at teh club lounge, then brought it up to the club
lounge & ateit.I got one more glass of wine before they shut down and saved it to eat with the pizza.

:flower: Thanks CPM for the reply. I am guessing that the wines are in big bottles and you just pour it yourself. Is that correct? What about the beer? Someone wrote in another message about being able to walk in about 15 minutes to a Ponderosa - from PBH. Should we take a taxi or is the shuttle that goes to Sea World and Wet -n- Wild something that would take us in town? We were wondering if we should do that since the parks will close at 7pm during our stay. We aren't sure about City Walk, just how much time we would spend there with a 10 year old along. :wave2:

Again, thanks!

The wines are in regular 7.50 ml wine bottles. You do pour them yourself. Beers are in bottles , they are in an ice bucket on the table with the wine.
15 minutes walk to Ponderosa, hmmm, I think it would be longer plus there are plenty of places in Citywalk that would be better and closer. My 8 year old loves Citywalk. they have a wide screen TV that plays music or sports, shops, sometimes music in a common area. Just stolling is fun. Somehow the time flies. There is always the movies too. We love to go to the Hard Rock Cafe for a good dessert at the end of our night at Citywalk. They are big and inexpensive!
I usually have a car, but always run out of time when we are staying on property. Never had the need to go to Seaworld, and I don't do water parks. If you want to, I would think the shuttle is the way to go.
