Portable spray fan in the GTA?

Hello there,
I live in Mississauga, Ontario and will be going with my wife and 10 month old son to WDW on September 10th, for a week.
I read on this board and some other places how much the "spray fan" helps with the heat, specially on small children.

I was wondering if someone has found these in Canada. Many people in the US reported finding it at Walmart, but I went to 2 different stores and they didn't have it.

Has anyone seen those around?

I just Bought a couple at Sanfransisco but I dont know if ithere is one in Mississauga
I have seen fans at Dollararama but not with the mister

We got some at "The Source by Circuit City". They were called Kool mist fans. Our local store didn't have any but had them sent from Sarnia to London. They were on sale for $3.99 . I went to their website- thesource dot ca and found 2 locations in Mississauga that have some. Hope this helps Dee

Thanks Dee! Although I'm not the OP, I have been looking for these for months. Just checked the website and the store about 5 minutes from our house had them.( The website set 8 in stock but there were 7) Zipped right over and picked up 5 of them. There were 2 left. (Stanley Park Mall location in Kitchener). These are the exact same ones I bought at Walmart for our Aug 2004 trip. They made a huge difference!

I was working today (making some OT to help with our trip next month ), so on my way back home, I stopped by The Source and picked up one.

They seem cheap but I believe they will do the job. For CAN 4.50 (after taxes), I won't complain.

You're welcome everybody. Glad I could help . Of the 4 that we got, 2 work really well, 1 so-so and 1 not at all- but I'll just use the fan part.

You need to check their website and choose the option Store Check (I can't post the URL here, the forum won't allow me).

Also, call them anyway to confirm. If they have a store showing one or two fans available, chances are that it's sold out already.

Hi Mississauga folks...I am in Mississauga too. DisLady [Tracy] is in WDW right now. When she returns, we'll be meeting at McDonald's in Walmart [Argentia and HWY 401]. I'm sure she'd love to share her WDW stories. Anyone wait to meet one morning when she's back? Thanks! Sandra

I have never seen these fans anywhere around the London area. We were just at WDW last week and they do cost $17 in the parks and they come with a carrying strap. I did see them in Walgreens, Wal-Mart and Target for about $6 or $7. There were very visible at the end of aisles. We didn't have one but I would if I was taking a young child as it was very hot. Many people were carrying them. So if you can get to one of these stores when you get there you will definitely find one. We stayed offsite in a villa just off 192 and I swear there is a Walgreens every 2 blocks on 192! They sell everything but the kitchen sink in there!!!

I to went to The Source too buy these. I bought 3 and now have returned all 3. When I got them home 1 was broken and 1 just did not work. I will buy 1 in Flordia.

Oh and Bunnyfoo it holds maybe 3 oz's of water and runs on 2 AA's

I haven't seen them around here. Now that summer is almost over they'll be less common.
But yeah, it's very easy to find them in the states at Wal-Mart. I got mine for 5$ in the Wal Mart Supercenter in Orlando (it might have been a bit outside, but not very far)

The fans were on special at the resorts this week....buy one, get one for half price. We didn't splurge....much to the chagrin of the girls.

The fans from The Source do seem a little cheap but they are exactly the same as the ones we bought at Walmart 2 years ago. We had 4 of them that worked for our trip all week but we broke 2 when we got home. The fell out of the cupboard above our fridge. The other 2 still work.

They don't hold a lot of water but you'd be amazed how long it lasts plus you can just fill it up again in the bathroom or at a fountain.
