Portable lockbox for water parks

Was thinking about bringing my portable lockbox to store my cell phone instead of renting a locker. These are the type that have a steel cable that you wrap around a fixed item ( Pole, sign, pipe...etc...) to keep the box from getting stolen. Has anyone else used these for the water parks? Is Disney ok with them ?

What a great idea ! I've just ordered one of these compact ones so we can store our iPhones and cash safely while at resort pools

I have one called a Vacation Vault. It's small, but hold my wallet, and cell phone. I have used it at the Disney waterparks before. I'm not sure if it is "allowed" or not. I leave mine in my big bag. I put the bag on a chair/lounger and run the cable through part of the chair. I get the strap of the bag in the cable too. Then, while leaving the vault in the bag, with just the cable part outside, I throw a towel over the bag. That way everything is secured to the chair, but you can't see it at all. The only way to take anything would be to either smash open the vault, or break the chair. I'm betting thieves don't want to call that much attention to themselves.

I would think twice about locking it to something fixed like a tree or pole. I know if you lock say a stroller to anything in a park they will cut the lock or the stroller, which ever is easier.

My guess is a box attached to anything (pole, chair etc) left unattended would last about five minutes before Disney security viewed it as a suspicious package and took appropriate action.
