Can you bring portable DVD players on the plane with you as a carry on? We are flying midwest and I looked at their restrictions and I didn't see anything about DVD players.

Yes, you can take portable DVD players through security and use them while in flight (not during take-off or landing). You MAY be asked to remove them from your carry-on bags for extra screening; the rules don't require it, technically, but different airports and even individual screeners apply different interpretations. I don't think Midwest has any power ports on their planes, however, so use will be limited to the battery life.

Wouldn't leave home without it !!! Keeps DD occupied the whole flight and gets her ready for all things Disney !

Just check your battery life. Some of the cheap (A/R) units are lucky to have enough battery for one movie. You can buy an external battery if you need to extend the play time.

if you have a big layover you can find a plug in at the airport and charge it also.
