We have a little of 2 hour plane ride from PHL ro MCO. And well Im taking to kids a 6yr and a 1yr. I want to get my 6yr a portable DVD player. Im trying to find a cheap good one.
Any suggestions ??

Here is a fairly inexpensive one: Promotion Available

IMHO, a 2hr flight is fairly short and you might find that the player is not really needed too badly. On shorter flights (2-3hrs) we tend to just leave ours at home because we find it's one less thing to lug around and we have enough other things to entertain ds with (he's 5 currently). Of course, you know your children best. :) If you do get a dvd player or other electronics, I highly recommend also getting some decent kid headphones. We bought these jasco kid headphones for ds and they are super flexible (think harder to break) and work well. I found them for about $10 @ target as well. Headphones on an airplane are a must otherwise you may raise the ire of other pax. ;)

hth!

I have to agree with the PP. A two hour flight is fairly short for the kids - I've flown with my kids since both were infants (and most of the time without my DH). I'd rather bring some snacks and color wonder markers - a portable DVD player is still a bit bulky to bother with. Maybe the older child would play a Leapster or something? I also found just some new crayons and paper great to have! This time of the year they are so cheap - I always stocked up! Nice notebooks are about 10 for $1.00 I think many stores near here.

I used to bring a bag of new stuff like that for trips to Disney - new crayons, notebooks, etc...

Duh I totally forget about her leapster. Thanks everyone im going to save my money and let her use her leapster.

I got the Disney portable dvd players at Target for $99! My kids are going to be soo excited ;)

As another PHL to MCO flyer (howdy by the way!) I would recommend the DVD player. DS is used to flying 5+ hours, so we figured the short flight to MCO would be easy and didn't bring it. Well- 5 minutes after take-off, he was asking for his movies. He's a great flyer and kept himself occupied (kinda), but he missed that routine. And, truthfully- I missed the hour or so that it would keep him occupied and I could read or do something myself...
