Port transportation

Is it reasonable to take taxis from the Radisson at the port to Kennedy Space Center and to the Dixie Crossroads in Titusville or do I need to rent a car?

If I need to rent a car, what is the situation on returning one--are all the major rental agencies near the port? I've read about Avis on these boards, but I'm confused as to where they are located now, also.

I know that at least Avis, Budget and Hertz are located in Port Canaveral. The Budget and Avis offices are just a little further down A1A from the Radisson. These renal agencies allow returns to MCO and possibly to other airports/locations.
