There seems to be a ton of buzz about Port Orleans Resort. Is this because POR offers a lot for the buck, or what?

Confused (as usual).

Thanks,

Sam

CSR offers the most bang for your buck because it has many deluxe amenities not offered at the other mods. CSR offers a fitness center, a spa, a salon, has the best pool and side of the mods, and no shared transportation.

POR does offer the boat to DtD.

We love Port Orleans - specifically French Quarter. It's quiet and cozy. Definately worth the money!

POR is a popular resort due to the fact that is the cheapest way to go with 5 people in a room. Although it is a just flat-out great resort as well!

We're doing a split stay. We'll be attending a convention, and then moving to POR for the vacation portion of our stay. This will be our first time onsite. I was sold on POR after reading numerous great reviews.

We stay at PO Riverside, Mansions section more often than any other resort. Lots to offer, and in the evenings there is Bob Jackson in the lounge!

POR also offer the option of using the pool at POFQ so you get 2 themed pools for the price of 1. A lot of us choose POR because it is the only moderate to accomodate 5 people in a standard room. I would love to try CSR but would have 2 have 2 rooms and the budget for that just isnt there for us on a 3 week trip.

We have stayed at a few of the deluxes and we love the POR just as much as them. It is a beautiful resort! The rooms are nice, plenty to choose from at the food court, and the grounds are very lush. This will be our second year in a row at the POR.

I've never stayed there, but I have a family member who is an executive at WDW and she booked us there for our trip in two weeks. She says it's super relaxing and the boat to DTD is cool. I'm really looking forward to it and will post about the trip when we get back.

Good luck!

POR is the better resort to me. It is peaceful and has a lot to offer. It is spread out so we usually request a room close to the main area. We have also stayed at POFQ. You hear a lot of good things about this resort. We did not like it. It may have been just a bad weekend. It was not the cleanest place. We went in May. The food court and pool area were always a mess. The room was dingy as well. I guess for $208 a night I just expected more. There was a family by the pool who felt the same way we did. They had always heard great things and they were let down too. Like I said, it may have been an off week for them. All in all, I feel that POR just has more to offer.

POR and POFQ offer boat service to DTD. While not as fast as taking a bus, it is something different...and very relaxing.

We've had exactly the opposite experience. We found POFQ to be immaculate over Spring Break. CMs were extremely friend, foodcourt was very clean, etc. Just last week at POR, we found toys and dirt under both beds & mildew in the tub area. The foodcourt was dirty all day every day. (We were there 9 days.) We nicknamed the lifeguards at the main pool the "pool gestapo" and heard much less complimentary names for them from other guests. We enjoyed our stay at POFQ (there are many positives to say about it), but it did not in any way compare to our stay at POFQ.

We were at POR in May & unless the Poly really wows us in Sept, POR is going to be our new 'home'! It was absolutely beautiful & I can't say enough good things about it. Can't wait to stay there again. Might have to visit it in Sept for a little walk around the resort & some sweet potato pancakes:thumbsup2

$208 a night???

As you can see, I've stayed at POFQ twice. It's so peaceful there. I the food court is great and so is the boat to DTD. Also, it has its own bus stop at MK in the evening. If you don't like the main pool at either resorts there are also quiet pools at POR you can use and the refillable mugs work at both resorts. POFQ has Elliot Dyson at the Scat Cat lounge Wed thru Sun.

While they do share bus systems, POFQ is picked up and dropped off first from the parks. So you always get a seat going, you may have to stand coming back. But not for long.

Unofficial Guide rates POR's pool second of all the WDW resort pools. CSR is rated 6th.
