Is it easy enough to take PO buses to the WDW parks? How about the water parks? Is the aggravation worth saving the money for the car versus Mears?

Relax. BIG breaths. Repeat after me: It WILL be OK, it will be ok . . .

imgoingtodisney, like others have said, if you are going to be only doing Disney, the bus transportation is really all you'll need. We NEVER have a car, but we stay with only Disney while we are there.

The buses run every 20 to 25 minutes. They are pretty reliable.

The transportation to the water parks may take a bit longer, 20 to 30 minutes.

If there are 3 of you, Mears may be a bit cheaper than a towncar, but not as convenient. You may have several stops on the way in and out. A towncar will get you there directly.

Really, don't worry about micro-managing your vacation. Remember to HAVE FUN!!!

A towncar is just a few more bucks then Mears and will save you alot of time. I would go with that. If you are staying on-site at Disney, you won't need a rental car.

I hope you have a wonderful "surprise" vacation.

I agree whole heartedly with Deb!
We've stayed at POR twice & the bus transportation was great! We had a bad experience with Mears two trips ago & if we had it to do over, we would use a town car service.
They make a grocery stop for you on the way to the resort!
I've heard they give excellent personal service!

You'll have a great time! We've stayed at POFQ twice, which uses the same transportation as POR. We drove both times, but we relied exclusively on Disney transportation both times. Yes, occassionally you'll wait a few minutes, but in the end, you'll probably spend the same amount of time traveling since the buses park right in front of the parks. Plus, you'll be able to plan your strategy on the way there and unwind on your way back.

Maybe I just don't "get it", but why does one have to plan any "STRATEGY" on a WDW vacation?????   . We try to awaken each morning and THEN ask a simple question: "What should we do.......TODAY??? ". If we micro-planned our visits the way that many of you do here, we'd be exhausted.

Life's short.............Smell the Coffee. If you don't have a reservation for "Cindy's", the sky won't fall in:D :D

It would if you were a 5 year old girl! LOL!!!:p

We stayed at POFQ and had no problem with the bus transportation.

Ahh Eros, spoken like a true adventurer. I always have a plan, wich is try not to sleep past 9am. I sometimes know which park I want to hit on which day. After that, I just try to do one thing that I haven't ever done in that park. My strategy is to have fun, and come home pooped! But not everyone can operate under those circumstances, they need to know exactly what, where, when, etc. I think that a lot of those people are the ones that end up not having as much fun as they could because they are rushing to the next "thing". There's nothing like sitting on a side street in DL and listening to the dentist office sounds.....People look at you like your nuts, just sitting there, doing nothing!!!

I have some unasked for advice - relax, enjoy, if you miss a couple of things, it is not the end of the world. Being a commando tourist can lead to major stress, sore feet and crankiness. Save up and go again, there will always be something new to see. Heck, I never swaw the Tiki birds at MK until 2000, and then it was the new show!
