Does anybody have pictures of the rooms? I have seen the ones on the other website. Also which rooms are the best as far as location to the bus stops, parking lots, food court, view etc. I like the idea of a corner room on a top floor. Any pictures would be great! Thanks.

Hi Sadie!

I don't have too many pictures of the room- but, feel free to look at our homepage: http://members2.clubphoto.com/tracey108203 . The ones with the room in it are albums B and C. We had room 1613 in AB. It was close to the bus stop and fairly close to the food court. I thought it was a good location. I tried for building 14 and I tried for a corner room. No such luck. But, it was still a good room.

WishingonaStar,

I really enjoyed your pictures. Did you walk, drive, or take the boat over to FQ? May I ask how old your kids are?

We are staying at POR-AB in May, and the slide at FQ looks like it would be a better size for my kids than the one at POR. They are 5 years old, just learning to swim. I will have them in lifejackets the whole time.

Hi BettyCv -

Thanks for looking!
We took the boat over to the FQ pool -BUT- we wouldn't do it again. The slide was nice and all.... but, I don't think it's any more "tame" than the AB one. And, it seemed to take a big chunk out of our time. I'm a commando-type when at Disney and only allowed a small amount of time for the pools. We would have been better off just going to the FQ that day. (by the way, we were looking at the walk on our boat ride over and saying we could have walked it fasteer- but were carrying towels, etc for the pool.

At the time of our trip, our kids were: DD8, DD7, and DS6.

I took them in January. The room photos are of our King bed room, 8030, in Acadian House. I hope you enjoy them and, hopefully, you will enjoy POR as much as we have. Don't forget to visit the River Roost Lounge when Bob "The Piano Man" Jackson is performing!

They are regular apartment sized fridges like kids use in college. You can see the cabinet holding the fridge in one of our room pics (link is above in another post).

was that a newly renovated room? just curious do you know if they are all renovated yet. that room looks nicer than the ones on disneys website. yhanks for posting such great pics :wave2:

Great pictures MiJo...Thanks for sharing them!

POR has all been renovated recently. I'm sure our room in Magnolia Bend was and they were finishing up the AB (it may be done by now). Our room did have a stain on the carpet by the table already but everything else was very nice.

Wishing on a star,

Thanks for the information. I guess the slide at FQ looks more "open" to me - like I could see the kids and they could see ME, the whole time they're sliding down down it.

Did you use the dining plan? If you did, I'd be interested in hearing what you thought of it. We have 5 year old triplets (they'll be just a couple weeks shy of 6 when we go). Hard to pass up $10.99 a day for each of them...

Well, I guess that slide is a bit more open- but the kids still have to climb up it and they wouldn't see you in the water at that point. If you have the time, I guess it would be worth it to try it out.

We didn't do the dining plan. We ate breakfast in the room - I bought bagels, butter and milk before we got there and had brought some little boxes of cereal with me. We bought a snack in the park during the day, had fanny packs with snacks like granola bars, trail mix, etc. and had a big dinner between 4-6pm depending on the day. Dinner always ended up being between $85-95 for the 5 of us. It worked out well for us.

You have triplets? How blessed you are! :wizard:

How about the Alligator Bayou section? Any pictures or suggestions about those rooms? Are they being renovated too?

Hi. We were in POR (AB) in February all the rooms have been renovated and they were very nice. Ours did not have a trundle but the other two rooms we had did have them. We really liked the rooms.

Hi Sadie,

We stayed in Alligator Bayou last year..Building 14. It's the closest building to the main building and food court. We had a nice room on the second floor. Keep in mind there are no elevators in this building. My understanding from an earlier thread is that this building is currently closed for remodeling. The pictures posted by the others of the rooms are exactly what the rooms look like in AB. They really don't change much from one room to the other... Have fun! :flower:

Thinking about staying at the POR on our next visit. Are the rooms with trundle beds comfortable enough for 5 for a week visit? Stayed at the CR last visit. Rooms were large. Trying to save $ so may stay at POR. Also how is bus transportation to parks and downtown disney? :cool1:

Although there was just my husband any myself, we had a trundle bed in our room. We had to check it out. :goodvibes We've stayed at CBR with 2 adults and 2 children and it was fine. We stayed at ASMu with the same amount of people and it worked too. I have to assume that you are putting 3 children in the room with you. You shouldn't have a problem with the room size. :flower:

Amazingly I dont have any pictures of the room! We stayed in Alligator Bayou building 27- room 2702... Room 2701 was a corner room (connecting w/2702 we went w/friends)... It was on the main floor. The resort is gorgeous! It is VERY lush w/flora. The pool was amazing! My boys are 4 & 6 and LOVED it! Our room was renovated- beautiful bathroom- loved the privacy curtain between the bathroom/dressing area and main room. We thought the location was really nice. Short walk to the main pool- 2 other quiet pools closely located. Short walk to the bus & main buildings- restaraunts/shops/boat launch etc., You can rent a surrey bike there which my kids constantly carried on about- we ended up renting one at the boardwalk.... Hmmmmm... I think that about does it! The resort is just that- a resort! Gorgeous! We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Enjoy your Disney Vacation!-
