My wife just booked POR for three night in May. We have never stayed there before. I am just wondering what are we going to like and dislike about the resort? We have three children who like to swim, how is the pool? Also. what is the best building to request. We would want non-smoking and close to the main building. Thanks for your help.

Hi NBA Goofy,

We loved POR. It is such a beautiful resort. With 5 of you, you'll be staying in the Alligator Bayou section. These are the only rooms with trundle beds. I'm assuming one of your kids will be using the trundle. We were in bldg 14 and had a waterview. This building was about a 5 minute walk to the foodcourt and main bldg. Also about 5 minutes or so to the pool.

My guys liked the pool. I think the older ones would have preferred a better slide, but I know that the pool just had a rehab, so I don't know what's been done to it.

This resort is beautifully landscaped and lush. there were bunnies, ducks outside our door everyday that my little guys fed. The resort also has surrey bikes which you can rent and ride around the whole resort. The boat ride to DTD is also great and a nice way to spend an evening.

The food court has a nice selection of food. Can't tell you about the main restaurant Boatwrights, since we never ate there.

Hope that helps,
Liz

Just so you know, Boatwright's was AWESOME for breakfast!! My husband and I go back at least once a trip (and we have never stayed at POR)!!

There is a Boatwright's Menu in the Dining section of the www.wdwinfo.com site. But here's a quick run-down of a few examples:

Breakfast-
3-egg omelet with your choice of toppings, served with homestyle potatoes and biscuits $6.99

2-eggs, choice of pancakes or french toast, and choice of bacon, sausage, or ham $6.99

Eggs Benedict w/homestyle potatoes $7.29

...and more

Dinner-
Two grilled chicken breasts drizzled w/apricot BBQ, mashed potatoes, vegetables $15.99

Chicken Jambalaya $17.99

Crescent City Ribs w/french fries and slaw $17.99

...and more

I think lunch is much like dinner, but the prices are lower. Be sure to check out the DIS Menu Database.

Hope this helped!!
