Just a quick post in relation to POR.
We have chosen this resort for our net trip to the world and just wanted to Know what sort of experience other Brits have had here.
Any tips for getting the most out of the resort?

We are staying there for 3 nights end of our August trip, we are big offsite fans after totally disliking ASMovies 8 years ago, said never onsite again but giving in and trying POR. Have you seen this website? http://www.portorleans.org/

We have stayed at POR and POFQ - loved them both. Found them peaceful and relaxing, food court and sit down restaurant both excellent and we love being able to take a boat to DTD.

We love POR, going back again in August, definitely get refillable mugs if you're staying more than a few days, take the boat to DTD it's much nicer than the bus, you can rent a boat, go on a carriage ride or do some fishing there too :thumbsup2

At the main pool they have towels for you to use, we used to go and get some to use at the quiet pools too!

POR is our favourite resort :)

The landscaping is wonderful and even though it's a big resort it never seems busy.
We like the Bayou section best and have been lucky in getting building 14 both stays - that the building closest to the foodcourt and main bus deepo.

The quiet pools a really nice place to relax in the afternoon after a hectic morning in the parks :)

The foodcourt is superb - plenty of choice and loads of tables. Get a refillable mug and you can take advantage of free softdrinks or tea, coffe and hot chocolate throughout you stay :)

We ate dinner at Boatwights once but it was nothing special - much prefer the foodcourt.

A big plus is the boat to Downtown Disney - it's a very relaxing way to make the journey.

One tip about buses - catch them at the main bus deep (south deepo I think). There are 4 bus deepos around the resort and the buses call at the main deepo first after picking folks up from POFQ, so the bus can be full by the time it gets round to the other deepos.

We have never had to wait that long for a bus to the parks, but at park closing it does get busy (as it does for all resorts). A good tip is not to rush out of the parks. Grab a snack and a drink and sit and people watch as everyone else rushes to leave :) Once the crowds have gone you can take a steady exit from the parks and not have to wait in line for a bus.

There is a large gift shops and small general store in the main lobby building as well as a bar where a pianist plays a few nights a week.

we are staying there in july for the first time so its great to hear good reveiws.

have fun

Goofyish great description only thing I have to disagree on though is the buses. When we went in August (it was 2005 so maybe it has changed) we never shared with POFQ and the main depot was actually the last pickup, maybe it changes in different seasons

hi we are going to POR in july as well and we cant wait.We are hiring a car so dont have to bother with transport.

We're going in February :cool1: It's great to hear all the positive reviews. Cant wait :rotfl:

At park closing times they had separate buses for POR, POFQ, and they came one after another, when one filled up another came straight away so buses were never a problem.

Does anybody know the opening times for the food court and also what time do the buses start and finish:confused3
