Can anyone tell me what this resort is like? As we're already going in December for our wedding i couldnt afford the yacht+beach or boardwalk.

Anyone have an info on this resort, what are the rooms like, can you walk to DTD?

I've eaten in the restaurant and it was very nice. I think you can get a boat to DTD. It's too far to walk though.

Ah our favouite resort :goodvibes We`ve stayed there 4 times now and it is such a beautiful place. The rooms are in 2 sections Alligator bayou and the mansions. Have you had a good look at the photo`s on allears.net ? they give you a good idea of what to expect.
I like the rooms, they are spacious and very nice and you can pay extra for a king bed room.
We liked the restaurant there for breakfast but not for dinner. The boat trip to DTD is lovely however there`s no path to walk there.
Have a great wedding!

This is our favourite resort too :)

The landscaping is beautiful and the resort, although quite large never feels crowded.
The food court is also very good :)

Port Orleans is really beautiful. I prefer French Quarter as it is smaller, just one bus stop, but they are very similar.

We used to stay at POR quite a bit (back when it was known by the much more charming name - Dixie Landings)...

We always stayed in the Alligator Bayou, in the building right next to the main building (where the food court is).....it was near the food court and also near a quiet pool....and not too far from ole man island...

one of our favorite things to do there is rent bicycles....since it's so big and spread out you can get some really good bicyling in.....

and the boat to DTD is also nice...

it's a lovely place to stay....

i came back to add that there is a fun singalong piano guy who performs at POR in the bar.....i can't remember what night, but it's lots of fun...

Have only stayed at POFQ and it was great- por looks lovely also!

I really liked POFQ much more than POR - smaller and more intimate.

I have stayed there twice both times at AB and love it. Have also stayed at AKL and prefer Riverside.
:cool1:

This is our favorite resort as well
It is the only Mod that sleep a family of 5
the food court is good but not that keen on the resturant

going back in Oct :cool1:

enjoy your trip
and the wedding planning where are you getting married ?

as you are going back in December
why not get AP's and see if you can get any discounts on the room Port Orleans RS come up quite often on this discount
we have saved the value of the passes just on the room discounts alone over the 12 months ( 3 trips )

we stayed there on our wedding/honeymoon last november. i loved it. we stayed in room 9266 in the mansions, when we mentioned we were getting married the nice lady on reception looked through the entire available room list to find us the room with the nicest view!! the staff there are all the nicest people. we ended up giving them the top layer of our wedding cake as a thank you.
we went to the POFQ for a look around, we didnt actually like the look of the place, we liked the theming of POR better.

not to sure
I just ordered them over the phone when I was booking the rooms
and was given a order number and just picked them up at downtown disney the first night ( had to have ID )

The Yacht Club sounds lovely for a wedding and at Christmas time as well

That's Bob Jackson! He is hilarious! We spent so many nights in the bar just listening to him. Anyone know if he's still there? Last time I went was 2004.
He signed a photo of himself for me, he is such a great man! My trip this year will not be complete without seeing Bob.

Oh and, POR is my favourite resort also :thumbsup2

We loved PORS too - great choice !!

We liked the ferry down to DTD and the use of the two pools of the PORS and POFQ ......PLUS the smaller ones around the accommodation areas.

Very beautiful resort... the only thing we weren't keen on was the food hall but we used to nip down to Sizzlers everyday at the Crossroads (just 10 mins) and had some excellent value buffet breakfasts there. :teeth:
