If you can't do a 1 bedroom, then the ASMusic Family Suites would have plenty of room for the 5 of you and it's just a little more per night than AB at POR.

We did it a couple of years ago with two adults and three kids (16, 13, and 10). The ten year old slept on the trundle and did fine - you'd be surprised (or maybe not) at how well kids sleep just about anywhere after a long day at a theme park. Frankly, I thought the double beds for two adults was more of a problem, which is a reason we are going to give Polynesian a shot in February (our first stay at a deluxe). I will say that the trundle seemed awfully loud every time our son rolled around, which tended to wake me up. My son never complained about the trundle.

DVC allows 5 people on a points reservation for a 1 bedroom. OKW (renovated rooms), AKV Kidani and BLT have the sleeper chair that officially sleeps a 5th person. AKV Kidani and BLT has 2 bathrooms in a 1 bedroom.

REALLY?!?!?!?!? back when we stayed OKW< I thought the max for a one bedroom was 4,no matter what! they are HUGE.........if we asked MS, they'd let us reserve w/5 names? (sorry to hijack,OP)

As stated, renovated rooms at OKW now have a sleeper chair, just like the 1 BRs at AKV and BLT. Official occupancy for those specific rooms is 5 (or 5 + infant).

My family took an air mattress last time. We put it where the trundle bed goes. Like others have said the one bathroom is the worse thing. We had two or three people shower in the evening and the others in the morning. We didn't spend much time in the room. The pool at POR is really nice. The way we looked at it, we didn't mind being a little crowded if it meant twice the amount of time we could stay.
