I received a pin code for free dining for Thanksgiving if I arrived the Saturday before. I am seriously looking at doing Saturday to the Friday after Thanksgiving. We are deluxe fans but money is a little tight so I have been scouring all of the information, videos, reviews, etc. about mods. POR looks like a really great choice as far as mods go. Can anyone share with me their thoughts about POR and the rooms? I like the look of the Royal Rooms but am open about the regular rooms as well. The community areas, such as the lobby, lounges and food court look really updated and clean. I would love to hear pros and cons about the resort and the rooms. Thanks!!!

We have stayed at POR and we loved it its a great moderate and its one of the cheapest I think you should definitely do it.

POR is our "home" resort, we usually make it out first choice when staying at WDW. It is simply beautiful, and most areas are very quite.
The food court is, as far as we're concerned, the best in WDW, and the staff are incredible. Trust me, we've really "tested" them!
The boat to DTD adds an extra bonus, and somewhat of a break from the madness which is the Diz bus service, but that goes with most-if not-all of the on sites.

We have been to POR and really liked it. but we have not been to any other disney resorts yet, so cant really compare. But we barely spent any time i. The room anyway lol

We are staying at POR right now! We have a RR in Oak Manor, and the location is great! The activity pool is great for my 9yo but wouldn't be as much fun for a child under 5 IMO. The grounds are beautiful, and the boat to DTD is fun. The busses have been really crowded in the mornings and evenings, but they run frequently and we've not had to wait long. The theming of the RR is nice, but not too exciting for a child my daughters age. I would stay here again for sure!

It has been my home resort since 2004. I stay the same week through Saturday; it is a nice time of year to go.

The pool is fun, and the ride to downtown disney convenient and nice. I like the riverside section better than the New ORleans section. I enjoyed the look of the mansions and also like boatwrights in the morning.
I would say to try it!

POR is our favorite Moderate. Love the grounds, pool and food court--best on property. If it were my choice, I would pay for a Preferred Room in AB over a Royal Room. It is a LARGE resort and can involve a lot of walking. Being close to transportation, main building, main pool, food court makes for a perfect stay at POR. JMO.:goodvibes

I just got back from a Royal Room Courtyard/River view at POR on 5/3 and it felt and looked deluxe to me. My DD9 loved our stay and kept saying how she would love to come back there sometime :thumbsup2

We just returned on 5/4 from a week stay in a preferred Alligator Bayou room at Riverside and we LOVED it!! I see you have sons.....we have a DS age 7 who just loved the room and the entire resort. Everything felt updated, clean and fresh. We will be returning to POR again and hopefully sooner rather than later.

one more thing: I've read some recent reviews about people not being pleased with the food court(food, staff etc). Well, we loved it! We had great food that we felt and the chefs we dealt with due to allergies were very nice and accommodating. We felt it was MUCH BETTER than the quick service at Wilderness Lodge.

We really enjoyed this resort. Nice rooms grounds pools and food court. There is an entertainer almost nightly that is fun.

Even though I havent stayed in all the moderate resorts but only POR and CSR, I think it is the best mod. We were thinking of booking it on our next trip. We were wanting a preferred room but preferred is not available with the free dining, which I would like to go when free dining is :rolleyes2 As of right now I dont know when we will be going :confused3

We loved POR on our last trip so much, that we decided we wanted to stay there again this year. We were loved everything about it including the rooms and we were in AB. Thought the food court was pretty good which is a plus because we ended up eating there quite a bit more than we thought we would!!

:thumbsup2 - We call POR our "home" resort (total of 22 days at WDW last year) - we're partial to the "preferred" rooms - closer to the food court, boat dock and the main bus stop, less walking - POR is fairly big - nothing like CSR, but still quite large.

We LOVE POR. We just stayed 2x in April in a Preferred AB room.... Building 14 & Building 18. Both rooms were amazing & we loved having the quiet pool just steps away from the room. The closeness to the food court was perfect & it was just a few steps across a parking lot to the bus stop. We took the boat to DTD many times just to relax and we also did the carriage ride with Lori & her horse Tom, for a relaxing evening for my husband's birthday.

We're planning to stay at POR in October for the Food & Wine Festival but want to try one of the Mansions in a riverview room to change things up a bit.

Everyone we were in contact with at the resort were great. Had no issues either time.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
