Hi I have some questions I am hoping to get answered :goodvibes

1. Which Mansion building is the most convenience to the bus stop, main building etc
2. I see all of these pictures of Port Orleans, I know its spread out, but is the main buiding where guest check in, gift shops, food court, sit down restuarnt all in different buildings are just in one?
3. How spread out is spread out? If I have the most inconvenience manison building how long would it take me to get to the main building?
4. What is more convenience the mansions or Alligator bay section?

Thanks for all your help

I can't answer any Magnolia questions because I've only stayed in AB. The main bldg does house all you have mentioned in one single location plus the arcade and a small lounge with a GREAT piano man, Bob Jackson (fun for the whole family). Also just off to the side of the main bldg is the marina for the boat to DTD and boat rentals. You rent bikes and surrey bikes there too. There are hair wrappers and caricatures in and around the main bldg as well. The main bldg is technically located on the AB side but some of the MB buildings are just a trip across the bridge to the main bldg. It's a lovely resort, hope you love it as much as we have!

1. Which Mansion building is the most convenience to the bus stop, main building etc I would think Magnolia Terrace is. When we stayed there in April, this is where our room was and it was extremely easy to walk over to the food court or gift shop. 3-4 minutes tops!
2. I see all of these pictures of Port Orleans, I know its spread out, but is the main buiding where guest check in, gift shops, food court, sit down restuarnt all in different buildings are just in one? They are all connected.
3. How spread out is spread out? If I have the most inconvenience manison building how long would it take me to get to the main building? Hard to say, but I would say no more than 7 minutes. :confused3
4. What is more convenience the mansions or Alligator bay section? Again, hard to say. I thought I would like AB more so than the Mansions, but I ended up falling in love with the Mansions. Both have their good and bad points.

Have a great trip! :jumping1:

We have stayed in POR (DxL) three times now. Twice in AB and once in Magnolia Bend. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace. It was really nice and I think, the most convenient of the MB mansions. There is a bus stop in the back of the parking lot. And it takes about 5-7 minutes to walk to the main bldg. The main bldg houses the check-in area, guest services, gift shop, arcade area, Boatwrights, Food court, and River Roost, the bar area. You have to cross over Ole Man Island from Magnolia Terrace to get to the main areas. But it's a nice walk. We took the bus from 'our' bus stop just once. We found it was easier to walk to the main bus stop in front of the resort in the morning.

As far as the Alligator Bayou section...we stayed in bldg 34 and that was about as far back as you can get. It was close to a bus stop, which we used. It was about an 8 minute walk to the food court/main bldg area. But a very nice peaceful walk. Last month we were in bldg 14. If I had been any closer to the main bldg I would have been employed there!!! The bus stop (the main one) was a quick 1 minute walk, as were the rest of the things..food court, arcade.

So, basically, if you want a mansion bldg...I would go with Magnolia Terrace, facing the river and away from the parking lot. But, be advised. Asking for a water view does not always get you a great view of the river. It could be of the quiet pool or a 'peek' at the river, which we had. You had to be outside your room, and hanging over the railing to see any water. But, we loved the room non the less.

We just got back from POR and stayed in Magnolia Terrace. We thought the location was very convenient. There is a bus stop right in front of it (although it is the last stop in POR), so it took us about thirty seconds to walk to it. Also, Magnolia Terrace is right near the bridge to the main pool and the lobby and restaurants.

I have heard that building 14 and 18 are good locations if you are in Alligator Bayou.
