Has anyone stayed at port orleans riverside lately? We're going in a few weeks, wanting suggestions and feedback on the place. We've never stayed there!

This question needs to be put on the WDW Resort discussion board.

2Minny,

I was there Feb. 2nd to the 9th. It was my first stay there as well and we loved it. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful landscaping, very friendly people, food court has great food. The refillable mugs are a must and so is Bob the paino player. Nice pools but only one hot tub. (they need one or two more)
Bus transportation gets an A+ from me!!!!!

Hope that helps!!!!!

We stayed there last April. We enjoyed our stay, but do not rank this as one of our favorites. I guess the themeing on the bayou side just wasn't our thing. I know they were starting to refurbish some of the rooms during our stay, and I know ours was one that was in need. It wasn't that bad, but things were definitely showing there wear. The food court was really good and Boatwrights was... ok. Might've been better if we were not so exhausted. The walk to the main pool was a bit of a jaunt, as well as the bus stop. But we were near a quiet pool which was nice. As for the bus service. When we were there, POFQ was still open and the two share busses. There was one morning that we had to wait for the 4th or 5th bus to AK to come before there was room to get anyone on. POFQ picks up first and then they come to POR. There were other mornings that we might have to wait for a 2nd bus to come, but early mornings seemed to be the only time it was a problem. Next time, if/when we stay there I would like to try to get the mansions side. Just to compare the 2. I think we'll pass on the bayous. Although, the walkways are very lush and pretty.

We love POR & have stayed there 10 + times, the last being Jan. 04. We've stayed in both sections & prefer the bayou side. However, the mansions are absolutely lovely & have a "deluxe " feel to them. We always request a top floor, corner room so we have 2 windows & no one tramping around above us. The boat to DD is a big plus for this resort, as is the food court. The lush landscaping helps minimize the fact that there are over 2000 rooms - I've never felt "crowded" @ POR, even when the resort was full. The transportation is good, but depending on when you go, sometimes the buses do fill up. I guess it all boils down to personal preferences...:D We'll be returning in 3 weeks & can't wait! We like to resort hop, so we'll also be staying at WL & the BW during the same trip.:p

Stayed at POR for our 10/03 Disney vacation. We stayed in the Alligator Bayou section (2 adults/3 kids). The grounds are very beautiful, clean, tranquil and have that rustic feel. The room themselves were fairly large (two double beds, with one having a trundle). The main pool was very active with both adults and kids. Food court and restaurant were also good. Transportation was excellent. Definitely would recommend.

rngclick - Have a great time!.. I'm jealous what can I say...Make sure you spend time at the Piano bar at night.

I stayed there in September and I loved it so much I'm going back in March!Tip: request a room in the mansions.
