We'll be at POR in 2 weeks!! Have an ADR at Epcot at 8:15am. Can anyone tell me approx what time we should aim to catch the bus? Is 7:15 cutting it too close? Would cabbing be easier? I want to make sure we aren't late!

I would be at the bus stop by 7:00.

Is 7:15 cutting it too close?

To me, yes.

Would cabbing be easier? I want to make sure we aren't late!

It would be easier, but we've never had issues when using the buses for early ADRs at any of the parks. Now when we have an early ADR at another resort we always us a cab for that.

Don't forget there is quite a bit of walking inside Epcot after you get there, so a bit of extra time wouldn't go amiss. And if you do get there early, just think of the extra photo opportunities in an empty park! Taking the bus is fine, just allow yourself some breathing space.

My husband and I are going with 12 other family members from 8/15-8/23 so if you see a very larger group of overly excited people, that will be us! :cool1:

We are planning a trip 9/27 - 10/4 and found out about the TOT 10 miler the last part of the week. Does anyone know if this causes increased crowds at the other parks? TIA

I would love to know too! We will be there on Saturday, I will have to post and let you know!

Didn't realize you are going the same time we are.

I will have the lime green Mickey heads in the windows of the room with Dr.Dad on them. Say hi if you get a chance. I also took VenomHatch's advice and faxed in a couple simple requests last Friday. Thank you Venomhatch for the form and the information!

We are visiting Disney and staying at POR or the first time Aug 28- Sept 5!!!!!!! Is there a way to find out EMH a head of time so we can plan our days? We are doing park and then some resort days so we want to maximize our park time.

The park hours for August and September 2014 are out, and have the EMH info on them at the following links:

August: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/DTA-Domestic/pdf/ParkHours/WDW_Operating_Calendar_aug.pdf

September: http://media.disneywebcontent.com/StaticFiles/ParkHours/WDWTravelAgent_September.pdf

Enjoy!

I'm sorry because I know this has been asked before but what's the reviews on the horse carriage ride? Is it worth the time and money? Just me and my DBF going. We have reservations at Boatwrights for a Friday night and figured we would do it after. Worth it?

We will be at Epcot on 4/4. We have a ressie at Akershus at 8 am. So excited. Truthfully, only made ADR for A&E. My plan is to get in line and skip breakfast, while the rest of the family eats. IF we get there at 7:55, and I mean at the restaurant, is it reasonable to assume that they can eat in an hour. They don't necessarily HAVE to see all the princesses. My DD wants to see as many as she can, BUT A&E are a MUST for this trip.

Thanks!!!! Carole :)

Hi,

When speaking with someone about our plans to stay at a Royal Guest room at POR I was warned that the Royal Guest rooms are not preferred locations. I knew this but had looked at the map of where the building are with the Royal Guest rooms and it didn't look like it was that far. But then I'm looking at a map and not sure I can accurately judge from that. Can anyone tell me how much farther from the amenities the Royal Guest rooms are vs a preferred room? Please :)

preferred rooms are in the AB. If you want the RRG I would request pool view or river view and that way you will be closer to the bridge that will take to you the lobby. I think the map can be a little deceiving as far as distance go. We stay in Magnolia Terrace riverview and it wasnt that bad of a hike...it was actually a nice relaxing walk. Andre can give a you a better idea and better pros & cons.

can some of the rooms in building 25 be considered pool view? We wanna request buidling 25 with a king room...not sure what to book and/or request. King is cheaper than Pool View. It doesnt HAVE to be king but it would be nice since there is only 3 of us.

Building 25 seems perfect for us...close to a quiet pool AND bus depot.

According to http://portorleans.org/room-requests.php, 16 rooms in building 25 are considered pool view, with 4 of those being King. However, it also says on that page that you would have to book King and request pool view.

I've been looking for pics of the alligator bayou rooms. On google I found pictures of beds made from rough wood, but haven't been able to find pics of an entire room. I only have internet on my phone so maybe that's why I'm not seeing them.

My question is this: are the rooms extremely rustic looking? We live in the country and I'm afraid my kids will be disappointed if it's over the top. Most of the places we get to visit are lodge/cabin themed. I'm hoping for something totally different for their first disney trip.

We have 3 kids so we would def need to be in alligator bayou.

We loved AB....not to rustic at all. You can head over to portorleans.org and their are a ton of pictures showing the whole room

The park hours for August and September 2014 are out!

The August hours have been out for a month or so in fact, Sept is pretty new though. The interesting thing (from my point of view, as someone who is there until 31 Aug) is that the MK regular closing time on 29 Aug was recently changed from 10pm to 7pm. So, if my reading of Disney's Poorly Kept Secrets Department is right, would anyone care to join me for Halloween in August? :)
