Where did you get the silhouette, how much was it and how long did the kids need to sit still?

I know of one place off the top of my head that is on Main Street in MK right about the half way point down in a little alley to the right next to the Jewelry /Crystal Shop.

I am sure if you ask them for extras they most likely will. I also walked down to the "mousekeeping only" room walked in and got as many as we wanted.

But I also work for Disney so I didnt feel like I was breaking too many rules.

I guess POR guests are part of the FP + starting in September. I was checking MDE and saw that I "Need to hurry up to customize bands as they are being sent soon" So I clicked as the Option to pick Colors was there!.

Anyone else with Sept ressies been able to do this?

Sounds like your stay at AKL is what qualifies you for FP+. September seems a bit too early for POR to get FP + from what we've heard so far.

We just got back on Sunday from a week 8/4-11. We got all of our requests granted (Oak Manor, 2nd floor). And we're given a corner room. POR was fantastic! I definitely recommend getting up early to avoid the crowds. 5 min wait vs. 50 min. We ordered from Garden Grocer (2 cases of water, snacks, milk), definitely worth it. I brought cereal from home. We lucked out and had a fridge. As for bus stops east spot was closer but we found ourselves using the south depot (mainly to fill up on coffee in the am). Parks were great, Magic Kingdom my favorite.

This is my first time at the POR - coming to run the Jingle Jungle 5K - I booked a "royal room" since they will be newer -- anything I should request or are all the royal rooms in the same area? I am not familiar with this resort at all (other than reading this thread ) so any tips are appreciated!

If you check out the map in post #1 of this thread, you will see the Royal Rooms are all in the same section. They are in the buildings that are red on the map.

I forgot to say that new coffee machines were installed at the food courts last Thursday, so Port Orleans now serves Joffrey's coffee throughout.

I use to get the silhouette done in Downtown Disney. Does anybody know if he is still there? I get one of my DD every year. We haven't been in 5 years so I know things have changed.

Yeah they are still down there. Last time I saw them they were over near Rainforest Cafe.

Flew Delta. Us and the flight attendants tore apart the 2 rows we were in. Wife thinks it fell behind through the seats and the people behind us swiped it. Who knows. Gonna call Delta to put in a claim just in case. At this point just wanna forget it and jump in the pool.

Where were you flying from? We are doing delta and will not be happy if there is a delay!! as it is our flight leaves at 10pm so we can get in at 6am!!!! yes!!!!

We finally made it here!!!! ME was great, we filled the bus so it left right after we got on. First stop was POFQ then POR! We were pixie dusted and had all of our requests granted: AB bldg 17, 1st floor, adjoining with our travel mates. No fridge in either room though. POR is very nice and BIG lol. We had a delivery from WeGoShop waiting for us when we arrived, awesome service and very convenient. We bought a case of water, some beer and wine coolers, juice boxes, cigs for DH, and some snacks. Oh yeah, and a cooler!! We are very close to a quiet pool. We ate at the food court tonight, I had the make your own salad. It was very tasty and fresh. So far, so good. We are still waiting for our bags though. Oh we'll, off to bed, going to the MK tomorrow.

Flew out of LaGuardia in NY. Only got in about 25 min late but that with the other issues made it miserable. But we're here. Everyone is in great spirits now ready for MK in the morning. Hakuna Matata.

Nope - we're at POR September 7-15 and nothing yet. I'd guess your AKL reservation is what's allowing you to be part of the testing...I hope I'm wrong, though - I hate being left out of the opportunity to play with new technology!

We took a tour of POR last week when we were there planning for our Disney wedding next summer and were so impressed that we are staying there part of our honeymoon now. Couple questions....Is the Royal room really worth it? I know the LED fireworks look cool but does it just wear off right away? Is the room as a whole a big upgrade from the standards or preferred? Any feedback would be appreciated.
