We were in Acadian House as well a few years ago in a standard room, and it was a wonderful location. I also enjoyed being just near the quiet pool and with the landscaping, it just seems like you see more birds and butterflies over there.

That's what I thought, too! It was really nice. I can't honestly complain about any of the mansions we've stayed at, but I love Oak and Acadian

OMG, I have to say the CM who helped me straighten out the charges was too funny. Her name was Jazzy. At first she thought I switched cards with someone else in my room - she commented, "there is someone staying in your room and you didn't even know her name." I finally was able to tell her they got switched somewhere and we had to retrace my steps.

When she asked me if my charge for River Roost was $35.98, I hesitated a bit - and said I wish! It was $125.00 - of course, I love Holly and did leave a huge tip! Anyway, she said, boy if I had run up that big of a bar bill, I wouldn't have known what I was signing either! I nearly fell over. She was a hoot!

That's hilarious...she's appropriately named Jazzy!

Holly was there in Dec and said she was moving. I loved her. She was SOOO sweet to DD. She talked to her and asked her what grade she was in and how was school and "oddly" my DD confessed to an issue she had with a bully and she was so sweet and offered her very affirming compliments and positive reinforcement and was so wonderful to her. She brought her a blinky ice cube!

Hangers?? There will be 5 of us at POR I am planning to hang up alot of our clothing as it is easiest for me. How many are in the room? can I ask for more or am I best off just packing some TIA

I always pack wire dry cleaning hangers to make sure I have enough. I generally need 20-25.

I'm the same way and I always pack hangers, but they take up so much room and so this past trip I tried a different method. I bought one of the collapsible shelf organizers that others posted about. I wasn't sure how this would go since I always prefer to hang things, however, it went ok. I used the top shelf of the collapsible shelves for my makeup bag and other toiletries (since it was hanging right beside the sink,) and I used the other shelves for sleeping clothes and shorts. That way, I only needed the hangers for shirts. Since we go in the summer, almost all of my shirts are tanks, so I hung 4-5 tanks on each provided hanger and it seemed to work really well, however, it was just the two of us. Since you'll have 5, I think I'd totally bring hangers. You can call housekeeping and ask for more, but I don't know if they'd bring you 20?

I pack my wire hangers in one of the outer pouches of my rolling suitcase. But the hanging cube organizer really was the greatest thing ever. We even used it at the YC where there was twice as much drawer space as POR.

I don't pack my own hangers, we have to pack enough. I just called Mousekeeping and asked for more. Ended up with about 30.

Just wondering if we need the haning organizer? there will just be 2 of us. would there not be enough drawers for 2?

There are only 3 drawers so only you can decide based on how/what you pack. Personally, I like to empty my suitcases completely and then refill them with used clothes as my trip progresses.

Nope. In Magnolia Terrace, there was no ability to store under the bed, however the mattress slipped down away from the headboard and we managed to drop the remote down there and it disappeared. We spent many times lifting everything up so we could get under the boxspring.

However, there was enough room to store baggage along the wall next to the bed.

Shoot! I love being able to get things out of my way. We are only a 3 person family, but we bring a TON of stuff with us. Good thing I am planning 142 days in advance. :rolleyes1 Thanks for the info!!!

I brought the hanging shelves for the two of us because we don't use the drawers. I know it might sound silly and germaphobic, but I've read way too many threads about people using the drawers to store their dirty clothes and it grosses me out a little!

Updated everyones arrival dates. Also I don't know how many of you that can remember "Disney's River Country"? Well there has been some activity in that area. Also some hires have been happening for crews to demolish the water park. With some more news to come.

Interesting! Have they announced what they're going to do in that area? I still miss River Country! :(

Venomhatch, thanks for the info. I'm a Ft. Wilderness person, primarily, so I've heard speculation on what might be happening in the former River Country for a couple of years now.

And as a primarily Ft. Wilderness person I'm getting pretty nervous about staying in a "motel". How loud is the air conditioning? I hate the sound of ACs. I noticed someone a ways back made mention of it here. Will I get no sleep?

I think we are almost set-after changing a bunch of ADR's this is what we have
Kona Cafe (still hoping for 'Ohana)
Nacoossee (25th anniversary)
Sanaa
The Turf Club
Raglan Rd. Now here's my questions on Transportation.

To get to Sanaa-which would be best? bus to AK then bus to AKL? or bus to DTD then bus to AKL?

To get to The Turf Club--take bus or ferry to DTD(I think ferry would be less walking) then ferry to Saratoga Springs?

Thanks for your help The less walking the better even if it takes a bit more time. We will have the time-hubby's leg power could be questionable :rolleyes1

No Official announcement yet. Just preparing for something. But there has been CMs seen behind the scenes on the grounds. Probably Imagineers getting ideas as well as securing the grounds better because of the trespassing lately by Ft. Wilderness Guests.

Yeah there has always been speculations, but lately they have been doing something back there. Seen activity first hand of CMs most likely Imagineers walking around doing their thing.

As for the air conditioning. I didn't think it to be too loud at all. I slept through it no problem. IMO, its the wired kids that no one is saying anything to running bye the windows and door. But hey its Disney, I know I get wired everyday lol. You have to be.

I'm a little confused. I've seem some discussion that buildings don't have elevators. I have pretty bad knee issues which would make climbing stairs arduous. We're reserved for Sept 24-Oct 1 for a Royal Room. Will we have elevators available, or should I make an effort to arrange a ground floor room? Any insights?

There are most definitely elevators in the buildings especially the Mansions aka where two of those buildings have all Royal Rooms in them.

The elevators are located near the central area of the buildings.
