Just wanted to update.. was able to pick FP+ yesterday but no MB's...and then today after being given the hint to redo online check in we were able to customize Magic Bands!! I am so darn excited....27 days to go!!
 
We leave tomorrow for Disney! Checking into to POR on Sunday!

Have a water view room booked but made no requests. Kind of hoping for Mansions but will be happy either way.
 
Tickets do need to be linked for FastPass+ use, but not for Magic Bands as you will get those even for a room-only booking.

Sorry for beating a dead horse, but I'm still a little confused. What "tickets" are we linking? We bought a room/ticket/dining package. Will we receive actual tickets in the mail that we need to link to FP+? Or is this "linking" done automatically on MDE? Please explain.
 
We are here. Checked in last night for one day. Our flight landed at 5:25pm and we were stepping in the lobby at 6:43 :)

No wait to check in, we are in a royal room and it is gorgeous!! My 4yr old is in heaven. Honestly, the room furniture, curtains etc... Are nicer than Grand Floridian.

We went swimming and the pool and slide received a big thumbs up. Very nice staff and lifeguards. It is beautiful here, esp at night.

The only cons and they are big is:

No working fridge. I knew this but it is still a bummer. I did not say anything at check in, no one mentioned it at check in and I did not receive a discount. I am sure if I went to complain I would get the $15 off but I think it is poor customer service to not do across the board.

The other one is the food court. It is INSANE!!! The line for nuggets was 20 people deep and very slow service. Then I still had to wait in 2 more lines. I had to wait one line just for uncrustable. All told, 35min to get food and sit at a table. No bottled soda. I do not like fountain soda. That said, the food was very good but my turkey was cold by the time we sat down.

Overall we are happy here.
 

Correct, the first check-in date to get Magic Bands is 3rd September. Sorry.

As I mentioned earlier, the fact that a lot of guests are due to arrive on Monday 2nd Sept (the start of Free Dining) is the reason that the Magic Band launch isn't happening until the Tuesday. The resort very sensibly doesn't want to launch a brand new and still experimental system on an extremely busy checkin day.

No problem! I was just making sure since it seemed that some were able to do one but not the other. I don't think it would have really done a lot of good for us since we are first timers and are only going to be in the parks for one day. It would have been cool to get the magicbands but just knowing that we don't qualify means I don't have to worry about missing something. :rotfl:

Can other people who were unable to customise their Magic Bands yesterday try this again today and see if it now works? Because of the date move from 2nd to 3rd Sept, I wonder if some systems were a day out of sync for 18-days prior-to-launch system access?

"Tickets" as in theme park admission passes. As long as your park tickets are attached to your reservation in MDE, you should be OK. If your tickets are separate, you need to 'link' them to your hotel booking in MDE before you can book any FP+ times.

Everything will then work via your personal Magic Band (hotel room door, theme park admission, FastPass+, dining credits, shopping charging, etc). You should not need a separate park ticket.

seems so.. the FB group we have all who couldnt yesterday CAN now if they redo their online check in!
 
My only concern with the bands is they are listed with a check in of 9/12.. thats our RO date.. wonder if when we go back down the 13th to check back in and such all our entitlements will be there!
 
Thanks for the hint! I just redid my online check in and was immediately able to customize my bands!! :cool1: Now if I can just get my BOG fast pass for lunch!

So, looks like we're getting magic bands, we have fastpass+ scheduled, a BOG lunch fastpass (with our food already picked) and a stay at POR with free dining.

Is it weird that I am most excited to see POR and stay/experience somewhere new? I don't think we will ever want to go back to Pop! :)
 
I am currently booked in a FD RGR but am still trying for a preferred room. I can switch to a FD GV and save $400. Location is more important than view but $400 is a lot of money! I am guessing we would be far from the main building but do you think it would be that much further than where the RGR are, we are a family of 3 so I would assume we would get placed in the mansions section. What would you do?

Sounds fine to me. AB might be a bit limited due to all the Preferred rooms there (although building #38 would work) but there are a number of mansion building rooms that would fit that request.

Online, first I re-did online checkin then I was able to do magic bands, then I took that ressie # and used it on the bog website to book fp lunch

:).. I wish there was a purple..I hate pink and would prefer purple..lol
 
Check in Sept 5th at POR for 9 nights with FD. FP+ was enabled Wed night, Did online check in, then last night did all my FP+'s. First thing this morning at 6am was able to customize bands. Loved how the system did FP+! Great suggestions and got an extra one on 1 day.

BTW: Added a day to my reservation last week and got aother whole boik with all the info and coupons! Are both good?

Thank you Andre for taking time during your vacay to do all this stuff for us, for honoring their request to wait - that is why they trust you, and for providing us so much good information. I'm still several weeks from vacation but you and Venom and all the others that help have already made it better!
