Excited to stay in a Royal Room starting Friday for me & my niece - we are coming to ruin the Jingle Jungle 5K and will hopefully sleep like royalty afterwards :)

Looks great can't wait!

Hi!
Wanted to hear experiences of anyone familiar with POR on a school vacation week and the buses at POR. If staying in the mansions near East stop, are the buses full by the time they get to you? What order do they pick up in? How far is the walk to main bus stop from Oak Manor or Partierre place? Is it tough to get a bus for rope drop?

Thanks for your help!

I can't address school vacation week because they vary by state...are you talking Spring break or Christmas or summer break? Because they will ALL be different. We always got on at the main depot because we were usually coming from breakfast. We've stayed in Oak Manor and Acadian House and still used that depot. On return we got off at the East Depot. I didn't find the walks from either building long at all. We used the footbridges closest to those buildings to get to the food/registration area. You can walk through the gift shop and hop right on the bus. I've only encountered busy buses at POR during our pre-Christmas visit and that was usually in the evening when we were headed back to a park. Getting to rope drop will vary on which park you are headed to, but give yourself 1 hour during busy times.

Good morning POR Fans! I hope you all have a fantastic hump day!
I leave you with this famous Disney Quote.

"The only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability."

Oh, and the runners on the Sports beds look just like the comforters that were there before. I wouldn't be surprised if the POR comforters are being repurposed.

I sure hope that is the case! I loved the look of the comforters in the Royal Rooms and was looking forward to seeing them on the bed.

Can't remember what it was called, but during our last Riverside stay we really enjoyed this one snack from the Riverside Mill...it was gummy worms in powdery chocolate...basically "worms in dirt"...planning to boat up to Riverside from Downtown Disney our next trip and wondered if it was still around for snacking. :)

We check in on Friday. :cool1:

Are there fridges in the rooms yet? We have the preferred rooms (Alligator Bayou?).

Also, will there be coffee makers in the room?

I may give them a call today to see if the preferred rooms have fridges in them. They should be able to tell me that.

I think they are moving them about the resort giving priority to those with medical issues. So, just because a certain room has one today doesn't mean it will have it tomorrow should the occupants check out ~ it may be moved to another family that has requested one. According to Andre's update on the first post the resort is around 40% replenished with the remaining fridges scheduled to arrive around the end of November.

No, they won't be able to tell you that. Some rooms do have fridges (about 40% at present) and some don't, but they sometimes need to move them around to meet medical needs, etc. No one section of POR is any better off than another at the moment.

You can call if you like of course, but I'd be most surprised if the information you get from an off-site call-center worker is any more accurate than what I've been told directly by the resort's Room Inventory Manager.

Andre I think your more informed then some of the cms lol ..... When I called in our requests today for bldg 7 I asked about the fridge because I have ice packs for my knee. She reffered to a list that was updated a month ago and she couldn't be sure if have a fridge so she suggested I request it.

Quick question, are the coffee makers in the rooms just basic coffee makers or do I need pods or something?

Pods, but not k-cups or anything you see normal. Once I was able to track down the maker of optional pods for it.

Wow, so then will I be able to purchase some to bring with me or will there be some provided in the rooms? And can I ask for extras if needed?

You can bring some with if you want and there will be some provided in the room. You can ask for as many extras as you want. We asked for extras one stay and had about 15 left over when we checked out after 10 nights there.:rotfl2:

You may request extras, sure. You could buy your own also if you can track down where to buy them from. The manufacture's website may be able to point you in the right direction.

I buy them ahead of time from coffeerocket.com. I don't care for the cuisinart ones that they give you in the rooms so I buy the Donut Shop Classics - they have them in a variety of flavors and the price isn't terrible.

Which reminds me...I need to place my order soon since we will be at POR in 26 days!!!

This is to Andre, We need to PIN this to the first page of the FAQs about the coffee and where guests can get their own pods from.
