IMHO, I would not switch. I have stayed had 4 stays at various resorts during a rehab and every time I did not even know about the rehab going on until someone told me. Disney does a fantastic job of keeping the guest affect to a bare minimum. We never pay for a view in a moderate because you have to leave the window open to enjoy the view and we don't like the world being able to look in on us. So to me, I can't see scaffolding being up affecting us.

In my experience, if a pool is down and guests have to walk or take transportation to another resort most skip the pool. Stayed at BC during a pool rehab at BWI. The rehab started in the middle of our stay and they allowed BWI guests access to Stormalong Bay. We didn't notice any surge in people once the rehab started.

Thank you very much for alleviating our fears. I know it may sound ridiculus, but it is so much money and we are looking for everything to be a magical as possible. I appreciate the great information. :)

I'm sorry if this has been asked. I am finally getting excited about booking POR for our Oct 2014 7 night stay. I have 2 questions. 1. If we need 1 double stroller and one single where do people usually store them? Where in the room or possibly outside? 2. My gut says get a preferred room with our little kids. But some of the posts I've been reading says it doesn't matter....??? Thoughts thanx! Extra info: family of 5. Kids ages 6 4 and 3 our oldest 2 have medial issues that cause them to tire out quickly. Which is why we'd like to have the strollers so they can enjoy the parks longer.

In my opinion I would request a preferred. We did with 5 and 2.5 year olds. I would also recommend requesting first floor as AB doesn't have elevators. We found we had enough room to store our long double stroller in the room next to the bed. We never collapsed it and it really was not in the way. You should be okay with storing yours in the room.

Ok last time we stayed at CBR I thought if we ever stay here again these are some room numbers I would request...I went around and noticed where I would want to stay and took note.
I have no idea why I didn't do the same the last 2 times we have stayed at POR. We have stayed in Magnolia Terrace both times and LOVE it there. This time at the end of this month I wanna request Magnolia Terrace, and a corner room with 2 beds and I want something on the quiet pool side (I think the north) ....does this sound like a reasonable way to request or should I be more general or more specific with actual room numbers?
I would be ok. with Oak Manor also if it was south facing toward the quiet pool there....not sure when the construction starts there.
Are there areas on the ground floor that would be close to a sitting area?

Thanks for the link to the free fax page! I was going to fax in my request from work, but with 12 inches of snow and 20mph winds (wind chill is -33F), work is closed today! But I was still able to send in my request. We leave in 5 days! So excited to see my kids on their first trip and to hit some warm weather!

Interesting that you said they were back up KTTW cards. I asked questions about this when I called in yesterday and was told if you wanted KTTW cards, they would then disable your MBs (couldn't have both). Just like anything, this probably can deviate depending on who you're talking to or dealing with in WDW?

Glad to hear your MBs worked perfectly. That's what I love to hear. We're going in 10 days and I'm holding out hope that we don't have any issues either.
:thumbsup2

You can request a KTTW card, but it's not hte old fashioned KTTW card that can pull the old FPs. It's a new RFID card that functions exactly like the MBs. It seems that they haven't been training the customer service phone reps very well lately. You will get a different answer every time you call.

I am THIS CLOSE to booking POR for the fall! I have been digging through this thread the last few days and am getting VERY excited!! Just wanted to share my excitement!!!!:banana::banana:

I have just gone back 6 pages and cannot find the link to the online fax request....can someone post it again please

Also, the demand for the pool in February probably won't be as great as it would be in the summer.

It's definitely better to be more general. If you request a specific room number and it's not available, they're not going to know why you wanted it, so they won't know what a suitable substitute would be. Also, it's not necessary to specify 2 beds in your request - only King rooms have one bed and that's a bookable category. You would only be able to get Oak Manor if you booked a royal room, and you wouldn't be able to get a room facing the pool unless you booked pool view, although there are some rooms in Magnolia Terrace on the side where the pool is that aren't considered pool view.

We are heading to POR on April 6. I have been slowly reading through this thread, but man it is long! Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for all of the info. It is freezing here in MN today and I find myself that much more excited to be in the sunshine!

:banana:Just booked POR room only discount for my daughter's 10th Birthday in May. Only going for 3 days so we will do 1 day at waterpark and letting her choose what theme park to visit. If mine ride is done she wants MK. 2nd choice is Epcot. So excited!

Hey all!

Just switched our reservations over to POR from POFQ after the discounts came out this morning. Saved almost $300.00!

We'll be checking in on May 27 and checking out on June 1. This will be our third family trip to WDW in three years and this time, we've got some friends coming with us.

lol..Tried talking my 7 year old out of a RR for a preferred location...no go:rotfl: With my reading it looks like I should request Oak Manor to be close to the foot bridge for main buildings, ol man island and the South depot ...right? I just love how majestic the mansions look from the front view:thumbsup2 I have a RR gardenview requested, but should I do the river view. My hubby would like to sit outside of our room once in a while and have a beer in the evening...are there little sitting areas in the garden view where he can do this? I'm really excited to stay here and I'm going to surprise my dd with a carriage :)

I sent in a fax request asking to be close to the main building explaining why and we were put in Parterre Place next to the quiet pool and I couldn't have asked for a better location!! I fell in love with this resort. I would have like to have booked a preferred room but none were available with free dining when I called. So glad I didn't, the mansions are beautiful.
